2023 GAMIC CHAMPIONS

Michael Pickholz

CEO / CTO MagWerks Vision

Michael is a veteran automotive lighting industry professional with extensive expertise in product innovation, advanced product design, engineering and program management as well as sales.

His career spans multiple OEMs as well as prominent Tier-1 Lighting suppliers. His quest for product simplification and functional improvements are at the root of his innovations towards the replacement of plastics materials with much stronger, lighter and thermally conductive Thixomolded Magnesium (Magnesium Injection Molding) as well the introduction of for more robust, long lasting and effective Optical Silicone technologies, which totally change how vehicle illumination products are conceived and manufactured.

MagWerks Vision aims to become “the” supplier to the Mobility and electrified vehicle industries, providing major improvements in illumination performance, a now clear contributor to accident reductions for both vehicle operators and pedestrians/road users alike. It thus aims to making a major positive societal contribution in the process.

Chance Claxton

Co-CEO Orbis Brakes

Chance brings a demonstrated history with sustainable consumer goods and start up enterprises to her position. She handled international product sourcing and vendor relations for Design Within Reach, served as Co-Founder and President of waste-free food packaging pioneer U-Konserve, and as CEO for environmental health solutions company BiOAID Inc. Skilled in marketing and brand management, product development, business planning, advertising, and e-commerce, Chance welcomes Orbis Brakes’ mission of combining high-performance automotive innovation with working environmental solutions.

Orbis Brakes proprietary design utilizes a floating centerless rotor and inside out caliper to reduce the weight of the rotor’s mounting hub, while the wide diameter opening pumps a higher volume of air through the vented chambers, significantly lowering brake temperatures.

The larger format creates more leverage and a more efficient force, allowing Orbis Brakes to use a 50% smaller brake pad to further reduce weight, increase overall efficiency, and lower brake dust emissions.

This revolutionary new dynamic allows Orbis Brakes to operate cooler as they get lighter, and enables OEMs to calibrate these values to the specific needs of each market segment.
