A Message From The Principal
Dear Parents,
"Teachers who inspire realize there will always be rocks in the road ahead of us. They will be stumbling blocks or stepping-stones - it all depends on how we use them."
- Author Unknown

This week's lead article is again a time for me to praise the amazing teachers and staff we have at Aspen View Academy. All our teachers and staff inspire our students daily, whether it be in-person or eLearning. They also realize that there are stumbling blocks that must be overcome. We all have the same end goals in mind - to make sure all our students are loved, grow academically and emotionally, and move on to high school well prepared to be successful. All of this is done in a safe and caring environment. Our teachers and staff go way above the call of duty. They are not just people who work from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and then are done. They sacrifice family and personal time to plan lessons, and complete countless other activities that must occur outside the normal work window.  Most importantly, our teachers and staff show students how to turn those rocks in the roads into stepping-stones.  They are taught how to overcome disappointment and failure and how to turn those things into positive, life lessons.

All too often, our teachers and staff hear when people are upset. As we are coming into the homestretch, I am asking everyone in the AVA community to please take a minute and send a positive note to a teacher or staff member to show him/her your appreciation. I know they will appreciate it and that they definitely deserve it.
I would like to start with a positive note to all of our teachers and staff: To some people in the world, you may be a teacher or someone who works in a school, but to your students you are a HERO!!! You inspire hope, ignite imagination, and instill the love of learning!

Mask/Face Covering guidance while on AVA property

We are asking parents/guardians to please wear a face covering while on AVA property during arrival and dismissal. There is no requirement to wear a mask or face shield while in your vehicle.

Thank you for your assistance with this as we try to keep AVA open to in-person learning as long as the safety and health data show it is safe to do so.
Middle School News
Salvete parentes! Hello parents!

I'm excited to announce that in Summer 2022, AVA students enrolled in Middle School Latin will have the opportunity to travel and see the sights we've been learning about in class all year. As you may know, travel was planned for this summer, but due to continued COVID travel advisories and restrictions, we are delaying until next summer!

I'd love to share some information with you about what this trip will look like and how your student could benefit from such a unique opportunity. If you're interested, please use the link below to sign up for our virtual meeting, which will be Monday April 19th at 5:30 pm.

Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime, and I look forward to seeing many of you soon!

Middle School Sports
Spring is upon us, and our sports programs are still on "pause." Our school and athletic conferences main concern is keeping our students in school. Because athletics would include the mixing of cohorts, we need to monitor the situation closely. We will continue to track the safety of sports through Colorado and CHSAA, and send out any update accordingly. Thank you for understanding!

If you have any questions please contact Lindsay Alguire at lalguire@aspenviewacademy.org.
