As we are nearing the end of the school year and we have fun summer plans starting to form for our families, I am realizing how exciting and wonderful this school year has been. I am so glad I am a part of the Aspen View Academy community.
One of the best parts of this year, for me, has been seeing our students get excited about the different experiences they have had and will have at the end of the year. From entering a new grade, in the fall to now being so close to their next grade level. I love the enthusiasm they exude when they are exposed to new things they have not experienced yet. From class field trips such as going to the Cliff Dwellings, reenacting the Civil War, or going to the Museum of Nature and Science to fun school wide activities, like our Fun Run/Color Run in the Fall and Field Day at the end of the year. These fantastic experiences they share with their classmates, teachers, and staff brings us closer together as a community. All of the experiences allow our students to grow academically and in learning how to navigate the world. Wonderful and inspiring activities happen in a variety of ways inside and outside of the classroom, all involving new educational experiences.
When I look back at all of the growth that has happened and the educational activities our staff and teachers have made possible for our students throughout the year, I remember so many awesome opportunities of discovery students have been exposed to. Our staff and teachers inspire me every day with how they interact with the students. Seeing how the staff and teachers demonstrate being positive role models is a delight. Our students are learning more and more about the world around them and gaining tools to navigate the world outside of Aspen View Academy because of these relationships and experiences. I encourage you to continue these exciting educational encounters with your child over the summer months. Whether this is studying nature in the backyard or going someplace new, the learning will be wonderful to experience. As you know, it is a joy to see them light up when they learn something new or have an “Aha” moment in their experiences. I look forward to hearing all about the fun they had with these experiences when I see them next Fall.
