Welcome Back, AVA Families!

Whether you’re joining us for the very first time or have been with Aspen View Academy since our doors opened, we are thrilled to welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year! This week has been full of energy—students arriving with big smiles, parents navigating carpool with impressive enthusiasm, and classrooms buzzing with excitement.

Our teachers, staff, and administration have spent countless hours over the summer preparing for this moment. From setting up classrooms to planning lessons, their dedication ensures that when the first bell rings, we’re ready to dive into what matters most—helping every student learn, grow, and succeed.

One of the many things that truly makes AVA special is our unwavering commitment to school climate and culture. A strong, positive environment doesn’t just happen—it’s built intentionally through safety, structure, clear expectations, and a shared vision for what we value.

At AVA, we bring this to life through our R.E.S.P.E.C.T. framework:

  • Responsibility
  • Empowerment
  • Sharing
  • Patience
  • Excellence
  • Compassion
  • Teamwork

These traits are the foundation of the well-rounded individuals we aspire to help our students become. We know they aren’t always easy—having compassion for someone who’s been unkind, collaborating with someone you don’t always see eye-to-eye with, or taking ownership for a mistake can be challenging. But these are the very moments that shape character.

At AVA, we believe this growth happens best when parents, teachers, and staff work together. Sometimes that means giving a gentle reminder, sometimes it means enforcing consequences, and often it means modeling the very behavior we hope to see in our students. When we consistently live out these values and hold one another accountable to them, we create a community where students can thrive both academically and personally.

I’m looking forward to a fantastic year ahead! I also invite you to join me for our new Monthly Coffee with the Principal sessions beginning in September. These casual meet-ups will be a great opportunity to connect in person, hear about what’s happening at school, ask questions, and get to know other parents in our community. Please be on the lookout for more details about this.

Here’s to another amazing year at Aspen View Academy—one filled with learning, growth, and plenty of R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

Middle School Only News

Calling All Tech Enthusiasts!

Our middle school students will soon be diving into a hands-on unit about computer hardware—exploring what makes a computer work from the inside out! If you have any old or unused computer parts collecting dust, we’d love to take them off your hands. We’re especially looking for towers, laptops, or any components that could help students learn and explore. We'll have a box inside the lobby labeled TECH donations. Feel free to drop them off anytime during the month of August.

Thank you for supporting our young tech learners!

IMPORTANT IMMUNIZATION INFORMATION

Colorado law requires all students attending Colorado schools and licensed child cares to be vaccinated against certain diseases, unless an exemption is filed. Below are the vaccines required for students attending Colorado licensed child cares and schools.

Vaccines required to enter school (K-12)

Hepatitis B.

Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTap).*

Inactivated poliovirus (IPV).*

 Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR).*

Varicella (chicken pox).*

Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap).**

*Students 4 through 6 years of age are required to have their final doses of DTaP, IPV, MMR and Varicella prior to kindergarten entry.

**Students are required to have Tdap prior to entry into 6th grade. One dose of Tdap is required for 6th through 12th grades.

If you choose not to have your student vaccinated according to the current recommended schedule because of personal or religious reasons, you must submit a Certificate of Nonmedical Exemption to AVA when school begins in August.

Nonmedical exemptions must be submitted annually, which means parents must submit the certificate every new school year. (The school year begins on July 1 and runs through June 30 of the following year.) There are two ways to file a nonmedical exemption:

File the Certificate of Nonmedical Exemption WITH a signature from an immunizing provider, OR

File the Certificate of Nonmedical Exemption received upon the completion of the online education module.

Downloadable certificates and the online education module are available at

LOGGING VOLUNTEER HOURS

There is a computer in the front lobby so you can log hours while you are at the school; you may also log hours at home for any PTO work, at home projects or if you forgot to log your hours while you were at school. All volunteer hours should be logged into HelpCounter within 48 hours.

How to Set up your Account with HelpCounter

  • Please click on this link and log in using your email address and create a password.
  • Click on 'Update Profile Information' to add your information and record your student's grade.
  • Click on 'Update Volunteer Interest Form' to indicate what types of volunteer opportunities interest you. This does not commit you, rather it allows the coordinator to see who is interested in specific opportunities.

These volunteer opportunities can also be found on the volunteer page of our website. Volunteers are expected to make child care arrangements for younger children prior to volunteering at the school. Younger children/siblings are not allowed in the classroom while volunteering.
