Admin Address

I'm thrilled to start this new school year as your School Resource Officer (SRO)! My name is Marcos Whyte, and I'm a proud member of the Castle Rock Police Department.

Think of me as more than just an officer; I'm here as a friendly resource and a partner in creating a safe and supportive school community. My role is to ensure your safety, but it's also about building strong relationships with each of you. Whether you need help or just want to talk, please don't hesitate to reach out.

I believe in the power of kindness, respect, and teamwork. Let’s work together to make our school a place where everyone feels valued and heard. By focusing on acts of kindness, servant leadership, and treating each other with respect, we can create an amazing school environment. Your ideas and input matter!

I'm excited to get to know you all better. Feel free to stop by my office or say hello in the hallways. Let's make this an amazing year together!"

IMPORTANT IMMUNIZATION INFORMATION

Colorado law requires all students attending Colorado schools and licensed child cares to be vaccinated against certain diseases, unless an exemption is filed. Below are the vaccines required for students attending Colorado licensed child cares and schools.

Vaccines required to enter school (K-12)

Hepatitis B.

Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTap).*

Inactivated poliovirus (IPV).*

 Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR).*

Varicella (chicken pox).*

Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap).**

*Students 4 through 6 years of age are required to have their final doses of DTaP, IPV, MMR and Varicella prior to kindergarten entry.

**Students are required to have Tdap prior to entry into 6th grade. One dose of Tdap is required for 6th through 12th grades.

If you choose not to have your student vaccinated according to the current recommended schedule because of personal or religious reasons, you must submit a Certificate of Nonmedical Exemption to AVA when school begins in August.

Nonmedical exemptions must be submitted annually, which means parents must submit the certificate every new school year. (The school year begins on July 1 and runs through June 30 of the following year.) There are two ways to file a nonmedical exemption:

File the Certificate of Nonmedical Exemption WITH a signature from an immunizing provider, OR

File the Certificate of Nonmedical Exemption received upon the completion of the online education module.

Downloadable certificates and the online education module are available at

The first Engineering Expo is coming to Aspen View Academy this Fall! It is a great opportunity for students in grades 5th-8th to apply their knowledge, creativity and skills to solve real world problems! The sign up is now open and will close on September 27th. Students can work solo or in groups of up to 3 students across four different grade levels (though students in 3rd and 4th grades can join teams of older grades; email for help finding a team)

Please see the list of this year's project prompts and sign up using the link here.

Sign up is free and all projects will be completed at home, but participants are offered to attend free biweekly workshops after school in room #223 (ES STEM Lab) supported by Castle View Technology Student Association students.

All projects and documentation must be submitted during the week of November 18th-22nd. Judges will spend the next couple of weeks assessing the projects. Trophies and prizes will be awarded on December 6th at Engineering Expo at AVA. All projects will be on display that day as well. If you have any questions please email gearing4engineering@gmail.com

Every year we provide this great tool to the AVA Community. The All School Directory is provided on the AVA website and it is password protected. The password will only be emailed to the parents or guardians listed on their student registration. But before it can be published, those families wishing to opt out must complete this form. Please note that you may opt out to all or partial information. If you wish to opt out of all your information, please know your student's name will still be listed in the classroom list within the directory.

The directory will be available on the website beginning of September. Once the directory is available it will be password protected so please look for the password in an email in early September. All families are automatically opted in to the directory.

To  OPT  OUT of the All School Directory you MUST complete this form. This form is with the other annual registration forms on the website. The deadline to complete this form is Sunday, August 25th.

PTG works with schools across the United States to provide shade structures and sun safety education to kids who live and play in the sun. Thank you to Sun Bum for providing this generous gift to benefit all of our students and staff!

Boosterthon

We're excited to introduce this year's main fundraiser, the Aspen View Academy Wolf Run. Our goal this year is to raise $100,000 for a greenhouse, school grants, field trips, fun school events, and volunteer appreciation to benefit ALL students at Aspen View Academy.

We’re excited for this fundraising experience because it offers 3 important things to our school community:

      User-friendly fundraising platform

      Character enrichment program

Fitness-focused event that includes ALL of our students

As a family, you will work together asking friends and family to donate on your student’s Donation Page at MyBooster.com. The best part is, you can still support our school just by SHARING about the fundraiser!

Students will also experience an amazing character enrichment program called “Castle Quest”, teaching students about how to be brave and live with character.
