Middle School Only News

Middle School Curriculum Night is tonight from 6-8pm. Due to limited space, this is for MS Parents only. Your student will see this presentation on their first day of school.

Middle School Picture Day-August 12th.


All middle school students will have their individual and class photos taken on this day.


Please note: Students must wear their AVA uniform for pictures. These photos will be used for both their Student ID and the Yearbook.

Middle School Fall Sports


 Girls Volleyball (Grades 6-8)

  • Tryouts: August 12, 13, and 14 (if needed)
  • Team Selection & First Practice: Tentatively August 14
  • Parent Meeting: August 14 at 5:00 PM in the Middle School Gym
  • First Game: August 26


 Boys Soccer (Grades 6-8)

  • Tryouts: August 12–13
  • Team Rosters Posted: August 15
  • First Practice: August 18
  • Parent Meeting: August 18 at 5:15 PM on the soccer field


 Cross Country (Coed, Grades 6-8)

  • No tryouts required
  • First Practice: August 25

General Announcements

Wolf Shack Back-to-School Sale!

Start the year off right—come shop the Wolf Shack for all your spirit wear needs! The Wolf Shack will be open this Saturday, August 9th from 10am-Noon in the AVA Lobby.

Please remember to drop off any prescription and Over the Counter Medications with the signed MD orders this week or during Meet and Greets on August 11th and 12th. The health office will have a table out in the lobby during Meet and Greets. All the medication forms can be found here on our website. We will also have forms if you need new ones for your doctor to fill out. In addition, we will have our immunization list for those who have any questions on immunization requirements. If you have any questions please reach out to our school nurse, Jacenta Wirth or our health room assistant, Mindy Baumann.

Used Uniform Sale-Money and Item Pick Up


Pick up all unsold items and money by Friday, August 15th. All items not picked up by this date will be donated to AVA.

Grades PreK-5:



  • ALL PreK-5 students will be in school on Wednesday, August 13th and will follow the published school calendar for the remainder of the school year.
  • Parents are allowed on the First Day Only to walk their student into the building and to their classroom.


Grades 6-8:


  • ALL 6-8 students will start school on Monday, August 11th and will follow the published school calendar for the remainder of the school year.


Elementary and PreK School Hours are 8:15 am-3:30 pm

Middle School Hours are 8:00 am-3:30 pm

Kindergarten BooHoo Yahoo!

PTO is inviting all families of kindergarten students to BooHoo Yahoo on August 13th, right after morning drop off in the cafeteria.

There is a computer in the front lobby so you can log hours while you are at the school; you may also log hours at home for any PTO work, at home projects or if you forgot to log your hours while you were at school. All volunteer hours should be logged into HelpCounter within 48 hours.
