It’s exciting to think we have almost completed our first semester of the school year! Time flies when you are having fun!

As we finish things out here at school and head into the holidays, I’d like to take a minute to remind you to take care of yourselves during this busy time. Self-care is the practice of taking care of your physical, emotional, and mental health and while this time of year typically brings about a lot of fun, it can also deliver a lot of stress. Please find time during these busy days to do something caring for yourself. Self care will look different for everyone; maybe it’s getting coffee with a friend, reading a book, going for a jog, taking a walk around the neighborhood, journaling, or going to the gym. For some of you it may be finding time to step away from your responsibilities and be by yourself, while for others it could be about seeking a connection with friends or family. Either way, it should help you to reset and feel re-energized. The most important part, however, is just to actually do it!

On a more serious note, it is true that the holiday season can be overwhelming at times. If you find yourself or a loved one needing extra mental health support, it’s okay. There are resources available that can help. Colorado Crisis Services is one such resource that has both walk-in centers or phone/text support. You can access them online at https://coloradocrisisservices.org to find more information on the help they offer. You can also access their hotline 24/7/365 at 1-844-493-8255 or text "talk" to 38255. In addition to Colorado Crisis Services, if you are concerned that you, your child, or another loved one may be showing signs of suicidal thoughts or behaviors you can also call or text 988 for mental health crisis support, or reach out to Rogers Behavioral Health or Denver Springs for less immediate assistance. Please always call 911 if there is an immediate safety threat.

As always, thank you for the wonderful support our teachers and staff receive from you on a daily basis. We are fortunate to get to serve such a wonderful community and wish you and your family a fun and safe winter break.

Gift Crowd is Open for Gifting

Our PTO is hosting a Gift Crowd for staff members again this year!

Here's how it works: Families can contribute funds to the staff members of their choice. Gift Crowd will collect all the contributions and send an email to staff on December 23rd with the total amount in their account. Staff can then use these funds to purchase gift cards to their favorite stores.

Please click on the link here if you would like to contribute toward a gift card for a teacher or staff member. Gifting closes on December 22nd.

This is a simple and generous way to thank the staff who work hard to support our children every day. We hope you'll consider participating in this wonderful tradition!

If you have any questions, please email pto@aspenviewacademy.org
