Aspen View has always strived to showcase the talents of our students. Our goal has always been to recognize the successes of these students and to challenge them to go even further than they thought they could. When Mr. Barber brought the Spelling Bee to the school this year it was another opportunity to challenge our students. Over the last month we had a classroom level spelling competitions to see who would represent their homeroom. This past Monday we held the 1st Spelling Bee Finals to see who would represent Aspen View Academy in the Regional competition as a part of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Amongst the 17 finalists competing for the title of School Champion were five 4th grade students, six 5th grade students, three 6th grade students, one 7th grade student and two 8th grade students. The final three we had Luke L.(4th), Lyla F.(5th) and Brooke M.(7th) competing for the title of School Champion. In the end Lyla F. spelled the word blasphemous correctly to become the Aspen View Academy Spelling Bee Champion. We want to wish her good luck at Regionals, and we know she will represent Aspen View well.
