A Message From The Principal
Dear Aspen View Academy Families,

I am excited to announce that Tuesday night the Douglas County Board of Education voted unanimously to grant Aspen View Academy a five-year charter renewal! While the renewal of our charter was never really in doubt, it was sure nice to hear that the district did not have any questions or hesitations in granting our renewal. In fact, a couple board members had some very kind words to say about AVA. The DCSD School Board did not hesitate to grant us five years, which has been the maximum renewal allowed for the past few years by the district.
The charter renewal process was a long one. In fact, it started way back last April, and we worked on our application all summer. After we turned in the application, various DCSD staff visited AVA and analyzed all aspects of the school from instruction and finances to facilities and safety. After the site visit was completed, the district reviewed all our information to make an informed decision. Though the process was long, it was so rewarding to go through all our accomplishments, acknowledge everyone's hard work and reflect on how the school has grown since our last renewal.

I cannot thank our staff and board enough for their dedication and commitment to AVA. Thank you to our parents and students who support AVA and help create the amazing climate and culture we have. Finally, thank you to everyone for being a part of something very special. AVA is not just another school; we are a community and always strive for continuous improvement. Here is to another amazing five years and I am excited to see how AVA grows in those 5 years.
Intent to Return to Aspen View Academy
It is that time of year again. Please complete this form and return to the front office no later than February 19th. This form is specific to Aspen View Academy. If this form is not submitted, AVA will assume you are not returning to AVA and your child's spot may be given to the next person on the lottery list.

We have rescheduled our Vision and Hearing Screening for February 22-25. With the Covid-19 pandemic and need for physical distancing and following CDE's guidance, we are modifying these screenings. Students in Kindergarten, new students, those receiving special education services and students whose screening survey indicated a concern will be screened.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Karin Gardner, RN, School Nurse Consultant at

Mask/Face Covering guidance while on AVA property

We are asking parents/guardians to please wear a face covering while on AVA property during arrival and dismissal. There is no requirement to wear a mask or face shield while in your vehicle.

Thank you for your assistance with this as we try to keep AVA open to in-person learning as long as the safety and health data show it is safe to do so.

Middle School Sports
Middle School Sports

Spring is upon us, and our sports programs are still on "pause." Our school and athletic conferences main concern is keeping our students in school. Because athletics would include the mixing of cohorts, we need to monitor the situation closely. We will continue to track the safety of sports through Colorado and CHSAA, and send out any update accordingly. Thank you for understanding!
