Dear Aspen View Academy Families,

It is hard to imagine that we have reached the end of another incredible school year. I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to each of you. This year has been filled with ups and downs, growth, resilience, and countless moments of joy, accomplishments, and new friends. I’m so proud of the progress our students, staff, and school community have made together.

Whether it was a kindergartner learning to read for the first time, a middle school student stepping up as a leader, or all of our students participating in and experiencing the amazing grade level events and traditions that make AVA such a great place to learn.

Our theme this year centered around AVA’s four expectations of respect, responsibility, safety, and leadership, and I’ve seen our students rise to the occasion again and again. From academic achievements to acts of kindness, your children have shown us that they are not only capable learners, but thoughtful and compassionate students.

To our amazing students - thank you for showing up, working hard, being kind, and growing in so many ways. Whether you’re heading into first grade or off to high school, we are proud of you. You have made this school year meaningful, and your energy and curiosity are contagious.

To our parents and families - thank you for partnering with us. We appreciate you volunteering and supporting school events and your involvement is what makes AVA feel like a true community. We are grateful and thank you for trusting us with your child.

To our graduating 8th graders - we are incredibly proud of you. Your time at AVA may be ending, but your journey is just beginning. Take what you’ve learned here and keep reaching higher—you’ll always have a home here.

To our dedicated teachers and staff - thank you for your tireless work, your deep care for our students, and your passion for education. You are the heart of this school and are the reason AVA is such a special place.

Wishing everyone a restful, safe, and joyful summer break. Thank you for being part of this amazing AVA family.

IMPORTANT IMMUNIZATION INFORMATION

Colorado law requires all students attending Colorado schools and licensed child cares to be vaccinated against certain diseases, unless an exemption is filed. Below are the vaccines required for students attending Colorado licensed child cares and schools.

Vaccines required to enter school (K-12)

Hepatitis B.

Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTap).*

Inactivated poliovirus (IPV).*

 Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR).*

Varicella (chicken pox).*

Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap).**

*Students 4 through 6 years of age are required to have their final doses of DTaP, IPV, MMR and Varicella prior to kindergarten entry.

**Students are required to have Tdap prior to entry into 6th grade. One dose of Tdap is required for 6th through 12th grades.

If you choose not to have your student vaccinated according to the current recommended schedule because of personal or religious reasons, you must submit a Certificate of Nonmedical Exemption to AVA when school begins in August.

Nonmedical exemptions must be submitted annually, which means parents must submit the certificate every new school year. (The school year begins on July 1 and runs through June 30 of the following year.) There are two ways to file a nonmedical exemption:

File the Certificate of Nonmedical Exemption WITH a signature from an immunizing provider, OR

File the Certificate of Nonmedical Exemption received upon the completion of the online education module.

Downloadable certificates and the online education module are available at
