The Key to Success:

Why Student Attendance Matters at Aspen View Academy

Dear Parents –

We have had an amazing start to the school year, and I see our students full of enthusiasm and excitement. At AVA, we are committed to providing your child with the best possible education and fostering growth in every way. One crucial aspect of achieving these goals is ensuring regular and punctual attendance.

Student attendance is not just about filling seats; it is about setting the stage for your child’s academic and personal development. Here are five reasons why attendance is so important:

Academic Achievement:

Regular attendance directly correlates with academic success. When students are present in class, they can engage with the curriculum, participate in discussions, and receive immediate feedback from teachers. Missing class can lead to gaps in knowledge that can be difficult to fill later on.

Building Work Ethic:

Attending school regularly instills a strong work ethic in students. It teaches them the importance of responsibility and commitments, values that will serve them in their future careers and personal lives.

Social and Emotional Growth:

School is not just about academics; it is also a place where students develop social and emotional skills. Regular attendance allows students to build friendships, develop empathy, and practice conflict resolution – all essential life skills.

Preparing for the future:

Consistent attendance lays the foundation for future success. Employers and colleges look for applicants who are reliable and committed. Good attendance habits can greatly improve your child’s future opportunities.

Accountability and Responsibility:

By attending school regularly, students learn to be accountable for their actions. They understand that their presence matters not only to themselves but to their teachers and classmates as well.

As parents, you play a vital role in supporting your child’s attendance. Here are a couple ways you can support them:

Establish a routine:

Create a daily routine that includes a set bedtime and wake-up time. Consistency helps children get the rest they need for a productive day at school.

Communicate with your child:

Talk with your child about the importance of attending school regularly. Encourage them to share any concerns they may have about school, such as academic or social issues.

Monitor your child’s attendance:

Keep an eye on your child’s attendance. If you notice excessive absences or tardies, please discuss that with your child. If needed, please reach out to the school for support and guidance.

At Aspen View Academy, we firmly believe that regular school attendance is a critical component of a successful educational journey. By working together as a community to prioritize attendance, we can provide our children with the best opportunities for growth and success.

Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education. Together, we can help them achieve their fullest potential.

Student ID's Each Student Gets One

Every student received an ID card when they had their picture taken last month. If they did not receive their ID this is because they may not have had their picture taken yet this year. Students will receive their first ID for free. If they haven't had their picture taken yet they will still get the opportunity to get their picture taken on RETAKE Day on October 11th.

If you need to request a replacement ID your student will need to bring $5 cash or check to the front office AND complete this form. Replacement orders will be sent every other week to Studio 5. They can take up to 10 business days to get a replacement once they receive the order.
