We made it!

We made it to fall break! I cannot thank everyone enough for your flexibility and grace as we opened school and allowed us to do what we do best – educate kids! The entire staff at AVA has worked and continues to work more than you know so that we can keep educating our students, whether it be in-person or eLearning. To say times are stressful is an understatement, but we work hard to have our students participate in a learning atmosphere that is consistent, reliable, and supportive. I am proud to report that due to the layered protocols that AVA has implemented that we have made it to the fall break with NO students or staff testing positive for COVID-19.
It has been so rewarding seeing our students coming to school every day with a smile on their face and leaving with a smile. Hearing the many positive comments from students from every grade mentioning how they enjoy being back at school is music to my ears. All of this tells me that AVA is doing things right and that our kiddos truly enjoy Aspen View Academy.

Thank you for trusting us with your kids. It is a responsibility we do not take lightly and will continue to work hard and do what is best for our students.

I hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved, safe, and relaxing break.

Aspen View Academy would like to start using a new tool as part of your students’ Google Classroom. The new app/extension is called Kami. It allows students to edit PDFs, mark them up, add texts, shapes and images. It allows students to dynamically complete classroom assignments and is a great tool for eLearners. (For more information on Kami please go to https://www.kamiapp.com/).

The Kami app has been evaluated according to school guidelines and approved by the school administration because of the learning opportunities that will be provided. Per DCSD and Aspen View Academy guidelines, we are required to obtain parent permission to use the Kami app for all students under the age of 13. (The Kami App Student Data Privacy Policy can be found here.)

Please complete this online permission form for every student currently enrolled at Aspen View Academy by October 8th.

If you have any questions, please contact your assistant principal. Thank you!

Switching Your Child's Learning Platform
As Fall Break approaches and we start preparing for second trimester, we know some families are looking to switch learning platforms (eLearning or in-person).

If you would like to make a change to your child's learning platform, please complete this form by October 16th. You do NOT need to complete the form if your child will continue in their current learning platform. You will need to complete the form for EACH student for whom you are requesting a change of platform.

We will be working with teachers and families to make the necessary changes and have those students beginning their new learning platform the first day of second trimester, November 9th.

Due to technical difficulties, we are not able to add Happy Grams to the marquee at this time. We will let you know when it is back up and running. Thank you for your patience.
Middle School Sports
Middle School Sports

Due to the concern for the safety of our students, and following CHSAA guidelines, all middle school sports will be put on pause until January. We are currently in the process of reformatting seasons, so we can have an opportunity to still participate in all sports that AVA typically offers. If your student is interested in participating in a sport in the spring, please consider turning in their sports physical this fall, to avoid the rush.

If you have any questions please contact Lindsay Alguire at lalguire@aspenviewacademy.org.
