A Message From The Principal
Under the current circumstances, we are respectfully requesting all parents to please use an abundance of caution when determining whether or not to send your child to school. Please see this reference for details about WHEN TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME. Ultimately, you know your child the best. If your child is not feeling well, PLEASE keep them home.

If you missed the deadline to request a switch to eLearning over the Thanksgiving Break but would still like to move to eLearning, please email your child’s Assistant Principal with your request.

eLearner designation and guidance
  • A student can be designated as an eLearner through the winter break (may return in-person on Tuesday, January 5th)
  • A student can be designated as an eLearner through trimester 2 (may return in-person beginning on Monday, February 22nd)
  • A student will be designated as an eLearner due to mandatory isolation or quarantining guidelines
  • A student can be designated as an eLearner on a case-by-case basis through administration approval

If you are concerned about a COVID-19 exposure or if you have a positive COVID test, you should report this to administration and our school nurse using the reporting tool on the AVA website or email one of the administrators above. In the event of a required school-wide closure, all students will transition to eLearning.

We truly want to be here in-person providing the best educational opportunities that we can for students! Thank you for your support in helping us to stay healthy so we can do that!
Unsure what to get for staff this holiday season?

While you are planning your holiday gifting, we hope that you will remember all of those that have been helpful in guiding your student through this hectic year. We are happy to announce two ways in which we can help. First, we will be collecting monetary and gift card donations at drop off and pick up December 9th through 11th. Just write your family’s name and who it is for on each envelope, we will take care of the rest. We are also utilizing GiftCrowd. Each staff member has a link, where you can add to their gift. On December 18th, they will receive an email with all the family’s messages and their choice of 100s of online gift card stores, as well as any money/gift cards collected.

Middle School Sports
Middle School Sports

Due to the concern for the safety of our students, and following CHSAA guidelines, all middle school sports will be put on pause until January. We are currently in the process of reformatting seasons, so we can have an opportunity to still participate in all sports that AVA typically offers. If your student is interested in participating in a sport in the spring, please consider turning in their sports physical this fall, to avoid the rush.
