The Choice is Clear

As a parent, you have an obligation to make sure your child receives the best education possible in a safe, caring, inspiring, dynamic and rigorous environment. You have a choice on where to make that happen. Aspen View Academy is that choice. AVA produces well-rounded students that are ready to be lifelong learners. One of our main goals is to prepare students to be successful in high school and beyond. We work hard everyday to fulfill the AVA mission and vision.

AVA graduates are flourishing in high school. We receive feedback from former students who tell us that they were so well-prepared for high school. They are receiving high grades and many are taking honors classes. We also hear comments from graduates who mention that, while at AVA, they did not understand why we held students to such high academic standards or why we held them accountable. After a semester or full year of high school, they now see the light. They see that everything they learned at AVA has challenged them to perform at a high level and has lead to a very successful transition to high school. The perception that being in a small school environment as a drawback is not the case. In fact, it is a strength for AVA and one that will benefit all students as they enter high school. While our graduating students do enroll at quite a few different high schools, a majority of our students attend Castle View or Douglas County. They can be comfortable knowing that they will be entering high school with a core group of classmates from AVA.

I completely understand that kids will be kids and want to go to another school because they think it might be easier or that they might have more neighborhood friends there; however, the bottom line is that kids go to school to learn and to be ready for college. Completing middle school at AVA has proven it will have your child well-prepared to be successful in high school and, ultimately, ready for college.

The quality of the AVA teaching staff is undeniable. All of our teachers, especially our middle school teachers understand what our students need to be successful in high school. They set high expectations, but also provide the tools and resources for students to be successful. You will not find a more dedicated, committed and engaged staff than the staff at AVA.

There are so many words that can be used to describe Aspen View Academy and what we represent and define who we are as a community:

           Welcoming                           Empowering                         Respectful
           Caring                                  Great                                    Exciting
           Supportive                            Encouraging                        Creative
           Excellence                            Innovative                            Nurturing
           Engaging                              Collaborative                        Positive
           Rewarding                            Fun                                       Safe

It truly is an honor to work at Aspen View Academy. Your child is the reason we are here giving it our all and making sure your child has the best educational experience possible.

The choice is clear – if you want your child to receive a well-rounded education that focuses on math, technology, language arts, humanities, science, music, art, PE, and character education - then AVA is the school to have your child complete their K-8 education.

Morning Carpool Reminders

Morning carpool is from 7:45am – 8:10am

We are seeing an increase in the number of tardy students in the morning. As a reminder, the morning drop-off begins at 7:45am (5 minutes earlier than last year) and continues to 8:10am. If your child arrives in the building after 8:12am, they will be marked tardy.

We added the extra 5 minute drop-off window to accommodate the increase in student enrollment. We have, however, noticed very few cars arriving on the property between 7:45am and 7:55am. Also, we have observed quite a few cars arriving on AVA property after 8:10am, meaning your child will be tardy. School officially begins at 8:15am, so it is important to have kids in class and ready to go. Classes begin at 8:15am and having students arrive to class tardy is a distraction that can easily be avoided.

Thank you for making Aspen View Academy the best school!
