Pay For Dress of Choice Day

Each trimester, AVA has held a pay for dress of choice day as a fundraiser to support worthy causes. Our first trimester fundraiser Dress of Choice Day is on Wednesday, August 28th with all proceeds benefiting the 4th Annual Colorado Walk & Roll to Cure FSHD. Students can pay $1 or more as they enter the school.

Box Tops for Education

Box Tops is an easy way for you to help AVA buy what it needs. Box Tops are each worth 10¢ and they quickly add up to real cash for our school. This school year, our school’s earnings goal is $1,500. Make sure to download the new app as the program is going digital. We will still be counting slipped box tops thru mid-October. You can turn them in to the Box Tops collection box at the front office. Please bundle them in bags of 50 and write your child’s name on the bag. The class with the most collected will win their choice of a pizza or cupcake party! For any questions, please contact Kelly McNeil at [email protected].

If you sold uniforms at the Used Uniform Sale, please stop by the office to pick up any money and/or uniforms that did not sell. Any money or uniforms left after TOMORROW Friday, August 23rd will be donated.

We will be providing the All School directory to families again. This directory is available through the Aspen View Academy app for smart phones. You can download the app by visiting your phone's app store and search for Aspen View Academy. The directory will be on the app early in September. Once the directory is available it will be password protected so please look for the password in an email early in September. All families are automatically opted in UNLESS you opt out by completing this form. The deadline to complete this form is August 28th.

Each year we provide families with resources to help with carpooling to and from school. This service is provided by a third party, Way to Go. We share the information with them and they will mail families vicinity maps to help you in coordinating a carpool with other AVA families who live in your area. We give families the opportunity to opt out of this program if they do not wish to have their information shared with other AVA families in your area. If you choose to opt out please click here. You will have until August 28th to opt out.

Third Annual AVA Family Fall Carnival

Back by popular demand, Saturday, September 21st from 2-5pm on the AVA field, we invite you to join us for a fun-filled afternoon full of games, food, music and festivities! Save the date and we will provide more information as the event gets closer.

Shop with your AVA friends for a good cause on Saturday, September 14th. Sign up here to get tickets, chances at amazing raffle drawings and to support our school all in one event! $20 of each $30 ticket sold will go directly to AVA. Support today!

Lock in HALF your annual volunteer hours NOW!

Want to volunteer, but can’t make it to the school, or would prefer to mainly help from home? Now’s your chance! Join the Fundraising Sub-committee and watch those hours add up. Important Information: Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT)

Universal Screening

As part of the Douglas County School District’s Universal Screening Process, ALL students in Grades 3 and 5 will take the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT 7) the week of September 9th. This assessment indicates the level and pattern of cognitive development of a student in comparison to grade and age mates. These general reasoning abilities, which start developing at birth and continue through early adulthood, are influenced by experiences gained both in and out of school.

Gifted Identification Referral Testing

If your child is in grades 1, 2, 4 and you believe he/she needs evaluation for Gifted Identification and Services, you may refer your child for testing by initiating the Gifted Identification Process.

NOTE: Requesting this assessment automatically initiates the process to evaluate for Gifted Identification.

Please request CogAT testing for your child by completing the Referral for Gifted Identification linked HERE. The deadline to complete the referral forms is TODAY (August 22nd) by midnight.
