Spring Fundraiser in February - Dinner and Auction!

Save the date for the spring fundraiser which will take place on February 7th, from 7-10pm at Maggiano’s in Englewood. As a school community, we have raised just over $42,500 so far, and we’d love to reach our $60,000 goal at the dinner and auction. Funds this year will be going towards outdoor improvements. If you want to help by providing auction items, experiences, or trips, please check out this sign-up genius.

It is our hope that no one ever has to pay for a damaged or lost book because our ultimate goal is always to get our original book back! All replacement costs will be assessed and added to your My School Bucks account. Send any damaged item back to school with a note explaining what happened. We will then take a look at the damage and see if it can be repaired. If not, your family will need to pay the replacement cost. Each damaged book will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

On January 14th from 5:30-9:00, Healing Our Youth will be holding a youth mental health and wellness event at Cresthill Middle School in Highlands Ranch. This will be a great opportunity to hear from professionals in the mental health field as well as individuals with personal experience dealing with youth mental health disorders. Click here for the flyer for more details.

Ideas for January Pay to Dress Charity

If you haven’t yet submitted a charity recommendation for our January 29th Pay to Dress of Choice, please email by January 6th. PTO will randomly select a charity from the pool, and announce in the mid-January newsletter. All proceeds will be given to the chosen charity. If your charity is not selected, it will remain in the pool for the following charities.
It’s that time of year again, the Kids’ Heart Challenge! Every year we partner with the American Heart Association to fight heart disease and stroke! During January our students will be participating in a program in PE called the Kids’ Heart Challenge! Students will learn the importance of taking care of their bodies and hearts while helping others in the process. Our students join in on fun activities and lessons that emphasize heart health during January. It’s free to sign up your child, and for doing so they will get a Heart Hero wristband. Your donations help support our PE program. Thank you for supporting our school and the American Heart Association! If you have any questions please email me or have your student ask me during PE, not their classroom teachers. There will be more information going home in Thursday Folders this week. My email is

Morning Carpool Reminders

Morning carpool is from 7:45am – 8:10am

We are seeing an increase in the number of tardy students in the morning. As a reminder, the morning drop-off begins at 7:45am (5 minutes earlier than last year) and continues to 8:10am. If your child arrives in the building after 8:12am they will be marked tardy.

We added the extra 5 minute drop-off window to accommodate the increase in student enrollment. We have, however, noticed very few cars arriving on the property between 7:45am and 7:55am. Also, we have observed quite a few cars arriving on AVA property after 8:10am meaning your child will be tardy. School officially begins at 8:15am so it is important to have kids in class and ready to go. Classes begin at 8:15am and having students arrive to class tardy is a distraction that can easily be avoided.
