Thankful Hearts
Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away and another year is quickly coming to an end. As our families gather for the holidays, we want to take this opportunity to reflect on and share the many thanks we have for our family, our friends, and our practice.
Our Family
At the heart of all we do are our families. Their constant love and support help us meet our daily work with the quiet strength and dedication our furry friends and their parents deserve.
This year we also celebrated several exciting events. These included:
- The first birthdays of Avery Parsons (Hunter and Tyler Parsons daughter) and Scarlett Miller (Dr. Melissa Joseph Miller and David Miller’s daughter).
- Law school graduation and passing the bar for Alex Grimes
- Marriage of Aubrie Ellen Grimes to Brian Rorer
- Completion of Vet Tech school by Hunter Parsons and Katy Broughton
- Great “cancer-free” news for Lynda Seal’s granddaughter
Our Friends
In our line of work, and the community we serve, we are fortunate to have so many people we consider friends. Whether it’s the pets and their parents or our neighbors and business associates, having such wonderful relationships in our life is truly a blessing.
As with most years, this one has also been filled with many new pets and adopted furry patrons. It is always a joy to see abandoned pets and deserving rescues find new loving homes. This year was no different. We are very thankful to all our friends who made a special place in their hearts and homes for these pets. We wish them well and look forward to seeing them for years to come.
Unfortunately, we have also had to say goodbye to some of our loyal furry family members. This part of our work is always the hardest and most demanding because of our passion for pets. Some of the pets we lost this year were our own. But while we grieve, we are thankful for the time we spent with them and the memories we made.
Our Practice
Next year marks AVAC’s 25th anniversary. I purchased Altadena Valley Animal Clinic in 1995. This accomplishment is something not taken lightly. It takes a team of dedicated and committed doctors and staff to reach this milestone. I am grateful for Drs. Melissa Joseph Miller and Sara Foster Hittie. They are smart, talented, and most of all compassionate. Along with the best Vet Techs, kennel staff, and office personnel to be found, my heart is filled gratitude this holiday season.
I wish you all a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Julie Grimes, DVM
