Aviation Camps Manager Position
- upcoming vacancy (August 1) at the Aviation Museum of Kentucky
The Aviation Museum of Kentucky is looking for an individual who might be interested in the position of manager of the aviation camps program - a part time position. It is compensated based upon the camps enrollment and other details listed in the camps timeline. Details would be reviewed at the time of an interview.
The position duties will begin in late fall of 2022 or early 2023. The announcement is being made at this time to enable potential candidates to learn about the camps by visiting one or more of those held in June and July. Camp dates are shown on the museum’s website - click HERE! to learn more

Essential attributes on which candidates will be evaluated include:

is very detail oriented and well organized
- has successful experience working with and teaching, in some capacity, youth ages 10 - 17
- understands fundamentals and application of effective teaching
- is able to reference some past experience or event that supports their interest in aviation
- has a particular interest in learning about the camps program and is willing to learn all facets of how the program is organized, planned and implemented (becomes able to teach any aviation camp class if needed)
- has a fundamental working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- most likely a retired energized individual who has the available part-time January thru July
There is no requirement for past experience as a pilot or for having particular knowledge of aviation. This is to be learned as part of the camps management process.
The museum has an extensive history of conducting aviation camps over the past 26 years. As such, there is a detailed listing of management activities and timeline that are part of the camps program management.
