AVID Scholarships Announced
Boise, ID -- 04/23/2021 -- Today, Boise School District announced the recipients of the AVID Scholarships for the 2020-2021 school year. AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is Boise School District's proven college readiness system, established over 35 years ago, that uses research-based strategies and curriculum to help close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.

Funding for the AVID Scholarships is made possible thanks to community contributions to the Boise Public Schools Education Foundation, which has provided $853,500 in AVID Scholarships since 2012.

"We’re delighted to support these amazing young people who have achieved so much both personally and academically," said George and Bev Harad. "We also want to thank the Boise Schools and especially the AVID counselors for their caring and inspiring management of this critical program. "

"We congratulate these outstanding Boise School District students on their selections to receive an AVID Scholarship and wish them well as they pursue their dreams in college, career and in life," said Jennifer Henderson, executive director, Boise Public Schools Education Foundation.
