Saying Bye-Bye to magazines, office equipment and other housekeeping

As many of you are probably aware, the AVN has been run from my home since the day it started way, way back in March of 1994. Over the years, we have amassed a huge amount of paraphernalia and boxes of magazines and newsletters. Everything important has been digitised so we have copies should we ever need to print anything out. All those magazines and 'stuff' takes up an incredible amount of room however and to be honest, I want my house back! So...if you would like to get free magazines while they are still available, here is what you need to do.

Boxes of magazines can be shipped or, if you are willing to come to the office, you can pick them up - as many as you want. Sell them, give them away or just hang onto them as a reference library.

All boxes will be sent by Fastway Couriers (meaning that I will need an address where someone will be during business hours) and we will charge you exactly what we are charged - nothing extra. If you don't want a full box, you do have the option to send us a pre-paid satchel and we will stuff it full of magazines.

These arrangements cannot be made via the website. You will need to call on 02 6687 1699 during office hours, FAX 02 6678 0894 with your credit card details (I will contact you with the cost before charging your card) or email meryl@avn.org.au but do NOT email your credit card details. It's not safe.

Please indicate how many boxes you want, and if you have a preference for editions, just let me know and I'll try my best to help though I can't guarantee they will be available.

There is a deadline for this however. Anything that has not been shipped by the 1st of January will be sent to the tip for recycling. So you have about 6 weeks to stake your claim!

In addition, I am just getting photos done now but just giving you a head's up that we will be selling off filing cabinets, computers and other office equipment. If you are in the market for some really good quality gear at a great price, please keep your eyes open and wait for our next newsletter.

Yours in health,
Meryl Dorey

The AVN will be in court on Monday, November 25th

The long-awaited decision of the Administrative Decisions Tribunal (ADT) will be handed down on Monday, November 25th in Sydney. As you probably remember, the Department of Fair Trading via the Minister for Fair Trading has demanded that the Australian Vaccination Network change its name. We have appealed against that decision and will hear the result of that appeal next week.

If anyone reading this would like to come along to show support, I would personally be very grateful. I will be there to represent this organisation and am hopeful that justice will prevail, but a bit of moral support would not go astray!

Here are the details for the court and you should be there a bit before 10 am.

Meryl Dorey,
AVN Public Officer

Petition to NSW Parliament regarding censorship of health information.

Please sign this petition asking the NSW Parliament not to allow the Committee for the Health Care Complaints Commission to expand the HCCC's already obscene level of power. If the suggested policy is enacted, nobody will be safe from prosecution for either speaking about, practicing or using natural therapies. If you can forward this to your friends, associates and family members and ask them to sign it as well, that would be fantastic.

Don't forget - if you haven't yet written a submission, the deadline is the 13th of December which is sneaking up on us really quickly. Please re-read the previous e-newsletter that you can find at this link to go over the requirements for submissions.

Please support the AVN with your $25 Annual membership or membership renewal. Now more then ever - with government attempts to remove payments from conscientious objectors and potential Prime Ministers stating publicly that they will remove our right to object to vaccines, we need a strong and active AVN to fight for your rights!
