TOMORROW NIGHT the fellowship hall of Altadena Valley Presbyterian will be transformed into a showcase of the greatest display of talent that has ever been assembled! It has been nine years since our church had what was billed then as an UN-TALENT show. Now, the Yakama mission trip team is proud to bring you the second UN-TALENT show that is well worth the decade wait! Do you like singing? We’ve got you covered. Maybe you’re more of a fan of instrumentals. Check. Not a music fan but more of a live comedy person? You won’t be disappointed. Now, I can tell, there are a few of you thinking right now, “yeah, but what I really want is a puppet show with magic.” Well, May 21 will be your lucky day! Desserts and snacks will be served by the Yakama mission trip team members, who are also doing the behind the scenes work to make this night memorable. Admission is free but there will be an opportunity to tip your servers, with all proceeds going to help send our team of 30 out to Washington state in July. Make plans to join us at 6:30 PM in the fellowship hall for a night of food, fellowship, and fun!
Interviews are now being conducted for this position. Please pray for the interview committee as they review the candidates.
As events are getting back to a regular routine, we are still in need of a Kitchen Coordinator to serve our church body. Please take this need before the Lord in prayer and refer anyone you think may be interested to A complete description and application can be found here:

Every great mystery needs a great detective to tackle it, tame it, and reveal the truth. Join us this summer as WACK welcomes the greatest detective of all time, the hero of countless books and movies! (Wait… We didn’t actually get that guy did we? Really? All right then!)

Come help us explore what God, worship, and mysteries all have in common with one another. Will you find the clues and deduce the answers like a true Sherlock, or will you stumble across the answers by sheer-luck? Either way, get ready for a fun-filled adventure that will surely be something to write Holmes about!

Registrations are now open for this year’s WACK week, July 5-8. Grab a pamphlet from the Welcome Center or Parlor or you can register on our website, HERE

The General Assembly of the PCA denomination is being held in Birmingham this year, June 21-24, and our Presbytery (Evangel) is hosting. Volunteers are needed from every church and there are a number of ways in which you can help. To view serving opportunities, or to sign up, go to General Assembly Volunteer Sign-Up. Also, did you know that there are numerous activities planned for women, children and families? A complete schedule of the conference can be found here:General Assembly Full Schedule. Note that visitors are invited to join the worship services on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Service times vary so check the schedule.
Some have expressed interest in the past in the overtures that come before our annual denomination, referred to as the General Assembly. An overture is simply a request for action that some member of our denomination or a court of our church thinks the General Assembly should take. That Assembly will take place here in Birmingham on June 21-24. If you are interested, you can check out these overtures by following THIS LINK.
Both early and late services are mask-optional in the Sanctuary; seating in the Parlor is social distanced and mask-required for the early service.
