AWAB ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
|
|
On behalf of the member congregations and friends of the
the AWAB Board of Directors is delighted to announce
Catherine "Katie" Chapman
as our new Executive Director!
|
|
As many of you in the extended AWAB family know, we have been undertaking an extensive search process. After prayerfully examining many worthy candidates, that search has recently concluded.
Catherine Chapman -- Katie, to her new AWAB family! -- comes to us with a career spanning not only non-profit management, but also fundraising, marketing, teaching, and administration. She holds a Master's degree in Philanthropic Studies (with concentration in Nonprofit Management) from Indiana University and a Bachelor's with honors (German and European Studies) from Vanderbilt University. She serves as CEO and founder of Fullanthropy (
www.fullanthropy.com), a philanthropic and nonprofit consultancy firm based in Louisville, Kentucky, and she has done curriculum design and teaching at Spalding University. A charter member of Nu Lambda Mu (a fraternal organization dedicated to the study of nonprofit management, philanthropy, and social entrepreneurship), Katie is also a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She's a member of Highland Baptist Church in Louisville.
Katie will be based in her hometown of Louisville, but has already started working with our geographically-distributed board members. Katie identifies as female, and uses feminine pronouns ("she"/"her"). She says, "I feel privileged and blessed to work with AWAB and serve so many churches, who are reaching out with welcoming hearts to the LGBTQ community, which has so often been cruelly excluded from traditional Baptist life."
We're especially looking forward to her contributions in member services (this means you, our AWAB family) and her help to continue AWAB's movement from "stable and healthy" to "growing and a force with which to be reckoned!" Please feel free to introduce yourself to her, at
katie@awab.org
