Annual Meeting & Banquet

Registration is Open - Join us!

You are invited to the 151st Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Banquet on Saturday, January 27, sponsored by Pacific Power, at the Clatsop County Fair & Expo Center Exhibit Hall. Our theme this year is: Feeling Crabby? Celebrating the Rich History of the Astoria Warrenton Crab, Seafood & Wine Festival. The theme is not only a nod to how crabby the rough January weather can make us feel, but also a commemoration of the rich history of the seafood industry and the chamber’s continued commitment to community building.

Help us celebrate the past year by joining us as we thank our outgoing board members, welcome our new ones, and congratulate community service award recipients.  We hope you will join us on January 27th! Visit oldoregon.com/banquet to register and for event details.

Please register today to help us with catering and other arrangements.

Chamber staff and George Award recipient

Myrle Bruner are already feeling crabby!

Costume Ideas for Feeling Crabby

In recent years, many of our event attendees have enjoyed dressing up for the theme of the annual meeting and banquet. This year's theme has people wondering about how to participate.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

* Silly headwear - We often sell crab and clam shaped hats at the crab festival. We got our shipment early - in time for the banquet. Stop by the chamber in January to get yours for $17.

($5 off our normal price.)

* Festival branded attire - Do you have a crab fest T-shirt or hat from a past event? Pull it out of the back of your closet and wear it with pride to the banquet. We do have some inventory at the chamber, so feel free to stop by.

* Festival attendee - What do you think an attendee dresses like? We see a lot of wine glass holder necklaces, plastic crab bibs and matching shirts. Maybe you are an attendee from our first event in 1982 or another of your favorite years in our four decades of history.

* Industry rep - Do you have a favorite artist, food or winery at the event? What about dressing as someone who works in the maritime, seafood, or wine industry? Show us!

* Not a fan of the crustacean? Interpret crabby as grumpy instead!

Use your creativity and show us your crab-ititude! No costume - not a problem. Just wear your business casual or company branded attire.

Understanding Recreational Immunity

A recent court decision regarding recreational immunity has led to closure of some parks and recreation properties in Oregon, insurers urging closures due to liability, and all Oregonians at risk of losing access to trails statewide. Learn more about the case here. Or, review this informative email from Oregon Coast Visitors Association.

The Oregon Trails Coalition will be hosting a webinar via Zoom "Understanding Recreational Immunity in Oregon" on Tuesday, January 30, noon - 1 p.m. What's the law? Where and when does it apply? How have recent court cases affected the current law? What solutions are partners proposing to address the current challenges? Learn from the following panelists and bring your questions to a Q&A session. Here is the webinar registration link.
