Oregon Made Film Coming to Theaters

#OregonMade and Astoria shot SOMETIMES I THINK ABOUT DYING, starring Daisy Ridley, is being released by Oscilloscope Laboratories in the US, Canada, the UK and hopefully lots of other places in the near future. Find out more on the film’s website

Of the small crew (about 20-25 people) around half were from Oregon. It shot mostly in Astoria, as well as Seaside, Gearhart, and St. Helens. Oregon Co-Producers, Steve Weisman and Kyle Eaton said, “The film was originally written for Maine, but they came here to look at the coast and fell in love with it and altered the story just a little to fit with the Northwest “. Weisman noted, “It was a fantastic shoot — the community of Astoria particularly was a welcoming joy to work with — municipalities, fire dept, police dept, chamber of commerce — and the people of the city were so great.“ See if you recognize any extras in the scenes!

Relief Efforts after Fire - #IlwacoStrong

Numerous individuals and businesses in our area were affected by the Ilwaco Landing fire this week, and their livelihoods may be jeopardized by the damages they sustain. True to form, the people in our communities have come together to assist those fishermen and processor workers as they recover. If you feel so motivated and are able to support, there are means for gear sharing, businesses are donating a portion of their sales to the relief efforts, and relief fund setup for donations at local businesses and gofundme.

Spread the love! Encourage everyone to look out for those neon hearts and use the hashtag #SpreadTheLoveAstoria in your posts. While many businesses will be offering sweet deals for having a neon sign, it's not mandatory.
