AWARD Network Research Fellowship Program Applications due March 31
We are pleased to announce the inaugural AWARD Network Research Fellowship program! This program is intended to enable emerging researchers to initiate or work on a collaborative research project with an experienced research mentor. Successful applicants will receive $2,500 to $5,000 to cover a range of costs, such as travel to visit their mentor’s institution or to a conference; primary data collection expenses; translation, transcription and/or editing services; publication fees; and/or other approved expenses. Applications are due March 31, 2024, and the award period will extend from June 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025. Learn more about how to apply at our website!
Save the Date! AWARD Network Annual Meeting on July 2 at the AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting
We will hold our second AWARD Network Annual Meeting in conjunction with the AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting in Baltimore, to be held June 29-July 2, 2024. 
 
The AWARD Network Annual Meeting will be on Tuesday, July 2, starting at 1:30pm (after the Annual Research Meeting closing plenary), and ending by 5pm. Lunch will be served and there will be ample time for networking in addition to learning about emerging dementia care workforce topics. Watch our Annual Meeting webpage for more information!

Professional Development Opportunity – NIA Butler-Williams (B-W) Scholars Program
This annual summer program is designed to improve understanding of NIA-funded science and available career development and training awards, hone essential grant writing and application skills, and energize professional networks. The intensive B-W Scholars Program experience is tailored for researchers pursuing a career development award or their first R01. The program is also open to early-stage scientists from non-aging-related fields who are interested in transitioning into independent careers in aging research.
 
Qualified applicants must hold a doctoral degree (Dr.P.H., Ph.D., M.D., etc.), be currently involved in or actively considering a move to the field of aging research, and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
 
The 2024 B-W Scholars Program will be held August 21-23. Participation is free and travel costs are covered. The application deadline is April 19. You can learn more and apply at the B-W Scholars website.
Upcoming Webinar on Advancing to Independence in Aging Research
The Gerontological Society of America’s Biological Sciences Section is hosting a webinar on March 18, 3pm eastern time, titled “Advancing to Independence in Aging Research: NIA Funding Opportunities for postdocs and early career faculty.” During this webinar, NIA Training Officer Dr. Jaime Lahvic will provide an overview of career development awards from the National Institute on Aging, as well as tips for choosing the best award for you and preparing a strong application. Save the Date! International Conference on Evidence-Based Policy in Long-Term Care
The next International Long-Term Care Policy Network (ILPN) conference will take place in Bilbao, co-hosted with the Bizkaia local government, on the 12-14 September 2024. More details will be shared on their website.

  • The Rutgers University AD/ADRD RCMAR Center is requesting pilot proposals that focus on the intersection of AD/ADRD-related psychosocial risk factors, detection, and health outcomes involving older Asian Americans. Learn more and apply by April 1, 2024.
  • The Research Centers Collaborative Network (RCCN) is seeking pilot proposals that address topics spanning the missions of multiple NIA Center programs. Learn more and submit a letter of intent (LOI) by April 1, 2024, by 5 PM ET.
