December 2021
As the year comes to a close, AYTEF could not be more proud of the progress we have made! When we launched a new program at Fair Oaks Tennis Center in January, we started with only 2 participants in our core GameSetMatch program. As December comes to a close, we have grown that core program to 26 participants! Our GameSetMatch youth and families are the heart and soul of AYTEF, and we are so thankful for their support and commitment to AYTEF.

This year we have also been incredibly blessed by the outpouring of support from our donors, grantors, and volunteers. Because of your generosity, AYTEF has:

  • Served 165 under-resourced youth with tennis and education programming in 2021.
  • Provided 225 hours of tennis instruction and 137 hours of character development & academic enrichment as of December 1, 2021.
  • Launched virtual Homework Help and STEM Learning Labs programs to reach youth during pandemic closures.
  • Offered year-round free community outreach tennis events, such as Tennis in the Park and Block Parties, that specifically target under-resourced communities near Title I schools.
  • Delivered 47 weeks of low-cost tennis, academic, and life-skills instruction through the GameSetMatch program, where 84% of the current program participants are self-reported as free/reduced lunch status.
  • Provided 4 weeks of low-cost Summer Tennis Camp for beginner players.
  • Partnered with Academy Sports and Outdoors to give 12 AYTEF youth back-to-school shopping sprees in the amount of $300 per child.
  • Organized over 65 volunteers for the Katherine Gooding Service Day, a day of service to beautify Fair Oaks Tennis Center by landscaping, pressure washing, painting, deep cleaning, and creating a study space and installing a hitting wall for AYTEF youth.
  • Ran its most successful golf fundraiser in the organization’s history.
  • Hired its first Director of Tennis, Kirsten Lewis, to oversee and grow the tennis programming at Fair Oaks Tennis Center.
  • Hosted its first Holiday Party to highlight and honor the achievements and hard work of our GameSetMatch youth.

This holiday season, AYTEF would like to thank everyone who has supported us and helped us positively impact under-resourced youth through tennis and education programs. And, it isn't too late to make a year-end donation to support our youth. May you all have a wonderful holiday season!
The mission of the Atlanta Youth Tennis & Education Foundation is to ENRICH the lives of under-resourced youth through tennis and education. We SERVE through sport so that our youth participants can ACHIEVE without limit on the court, in the classroom, and in life.
