AYTEF Expands Local Reach with New Partnerships and Programs

AYTEF is growing its impact by partnering with local youth-serving organizations and facilities, ensuring our programs remain accessible and rooted in under-resourced communities. Beginning this fall, we’re excited to launch afterschool programming at three new sites, all located within three miles of our main programming hub at Fair Oaks Tennis Center.

In addition to these new sites, AYTEF will host pop-up tennis experiences throughout the community to build awareness and bring the joy of sport directly to families. To support these upcoming launches, our team has been hard at work this spring—connecting with families in school pick-up lines, attending community and school events, and spreading the word about our programs. We’re energized by the momentum and look forward to welcoming even more families into the AYTEF community!

AYTEF Deepens School Partnership with Fair Oaks Elementary

AYTEF’s partnership with Fair Oaks Elementary School continues to grow stronger through our ongoing afterschool program. In collaboration with YELLS and Ser Familia, this initiative gives young students the opportunity to learn and thrive in a supportive, enriching environment.

By maintaining the same two AYTEF coaches each week, we’re fostering consistency and trust—key elements in helping students feel safe, supported, and engaged. Looking ahead, we aim to strengthen the partnership even further by offering monthly field trips to the Fair Oaks Tennis Center, giving students a chance to experience the excitement of playing tennis on the courts. We are incredibly proud of this ambitious and enthusiastic group of students and look forward to supporting their continued growth through this meaningful initiative.

AYTEF Student Joins High School JV Tennis Team!

Congratulations to one of our AYTEF students who recently made the Junior Varsity tennis team at her high school! This milestone marks the first successful transition from our K–8 player pathway to a high school team since relocating to Fair Oaks—an exciting and encouraging benchmark for our programming.

We’re so proud of her hard work, dedication, and growth both on and off the court. Moments like these remind us of the power of consistent support, coaching, and community. Way to go!

AYTEF Students Honor Black History — Meet Our Timeline Winner!

Throughout Black History Month, our students honored influential Black Americans by creating timelines that highlighted their lives, achievements, and lasting impact in areas like sports, music, civil rights, and beyond.

Students dove into research and showcased their work through creative, informative posters—each one a tribute to the power of legacy and representation. These timelines were shared on AYTEF’s Instagram, where our community had the chance to vote for their favorites.

The results are in, and we’re thrilled to announce that the winning entry celebrates tennis legend Althea Gibson! Her legacy as a barrier-breaking athlete continues to inspire generations both on and off the court.

A huge thank you to all the students who participated and to our community for voting and celebrating #BlackHistoryMonth with us!

New Partnership with STEAM Generation!

AYTEF is thrilled to announce our new partnership with STEAM Generation to bring FREE, hands-on STEAM enrichment to our SET K–8th grade players every Monday in select months. From building rockets to exploring exciting science, technology, engineering, art, and math concepts, students will engage in fun, interactive lessons right here on-site.

We extend our thanks to the Norman Foundation, Sue Burkhart, and the Michael Kraft Memorial Fund for their generous support of our STEM efforts. Their contributions have made this enriching educational experience possible for our students.

SET for Success: Monthly Speaker Series

At AYTEF, we believe tennis is just the beginning. Through our new Monthly Guest Speaker initiative, AYTEF players are gaining valuable life skills from professionals across diverse industries—connecting lessons on the court to real-world success.

In February, we welcomed Van Dinh, an accomplished film producer, who led a dynamic session on problem-solving and critical thinking. Our players explored how strategic thinking applies both in filmmaking and in tennis. Who knew these two worlds had so much in common? Huge thanks to Van Dinh for inspiring our students to think fast and stay sharp!

In March, we welcomed Freedom Youth Yoga to continue our focus on health and wellness. Our players recently enjoyed a calming and empowering yoga and mindfulness session with Akilah from Freedom Youth Yoga. With deep breathing techniques and gentle movements, our students learned how a calm mind can lead to a strong, focused game. Thank you Freedom Youth Yoga a for guiding us through such a meaningful experience!

Through monthly guest sessions like these, AYTEF is continuing to build confident, well-rounded youth—both on and off the court.

At AYTEF, we believe every child deserves access to opportunity, support, and a safe space to grow—on and off the court. Your donation directly fuels our tennis pathways and enrichment programs, helping us provide low-cost and/or free after-school sessions, academic enrichment, mentorship, safe peer community, and wellness experiences for youth who need it most. Whether it’s $10 or $100, every gift makes a difference in a child’s life.

DONATE NOW to support our mission and help us continue building confident, capable, and connected youth through the power of sport and education.
