Each Monday and Wednesday afternoon from 4:30-7 p.m. GameSetMatch participants practice tennis, work on life-skills, and complete academic enrichment activities at Fair Oaks Tennis Center. They are working incredibly hard both on and off the court! 

GameSetMatch youth also visited the TRUIST ATLANTA OPEN where they created their own racquets, participated in a kids’ clinic, and learned how racquets are strung. They finished the morning by forming a clap and wave tunnel to welcome professional tennis players onto the stadium court. Thank you, Truist Atlanta Open, for including AYTEF youth in such incredible and inspiring event! 

The first Block Party of the new school year is FRIDAY, AUGUST 27!

GameSetMatch participants work on learning important life-skills. Topics covered this month include: 

  • Good listening versus poor listening

  • The importance of rules at tennis, at home, and in life

  • How to turn negative comments into positive comments

  • Practicing to improve “Positive Practice” 

  • Creating positive self motto business cards
In STEM Learning Labs, youth attend a virtual Zoom science class led by Ms. Samantha. AYTEF ships materials necessary to complete weekly hands-on science experiments. The fall session will focus on coding and robotics.

Classes are on THURSDAY AFTERNOONS from 4:45 p.m.- 5:15 p.m.

Register to play tennis for a great cause! The Emory Tennis Medicine Team will be hosting a healthy hitting session and round robin tennis event THIS SUNDAY at Lifetime Athletic Club in Peachtree Corners.

Dr. Neeru Jayanthi, Tony Tran, and Adriania Acuña will be teaching participants how to spend more time on the court and remain injury-free. Players will then participate in fun drills to apply the healthy hitting pointers and compete in a team round robin.

 All proceeds benefit AYTEF.
