Research & Development (R&D) Grants provide up to $5000 in funding support to Arizona artists as they work to advance their artistic practice, expand their creative horizons, and deepen the impact of their work.

Who’s it for?
Artists working in any discipline who live and work in Arizona. Whether you’re just getting started or you have already experienced many career successes, the R&D Grant is available to help you take your artistic practice to the next level, including:
  • exploration of new techniques
  • experimentation with new materials or technologies
  • creation of new work
  • development of new strategies for engaging your community of practice

Seeking Young Leaders to Join the AZ Youth Arts Council
Apply by October 24, 2019
The Arizona Commission on the Arts invites teen artists and creatives to join the newly established AZ Youth Arts Council, an advisory group that will work to ensure that Arizona's youth perspective is heard in arts programming and policy. Creative young people between the ages of 14 and 19 who have an interest in the arts are encouraged to apply.
Those selected to represent their community on the AZ Youth Arts Council will: 
  • Learn about policy to advocate for equal access to the arts for all young people in Arizona
  • Advise the Arts Commission on grant programs and initiatives that directly affect young people 
  • Review issues related to arts and culture programs and services for young people
  • Create arts and media projects highlighting the arts in their communities  

Council members will enjoy opportunities to engage with young artists and arts professionals from throughout the state, build creative leadership skills, and gain valuable experience in and knowledge of public policy.
Residencies for Artists, Curators and Art Writers
SEA Foundation

SEA Foundation – AiR Tilburg invites applicants for its 2020/2021 residency program. The residencies are designed for visual artists, curators and art writers whose work and life demands both a rigorous engagement as well as an urgency to propel progress in their practice. Duration up to 3 months.
Downtown Benches Art Project

The Glendale Arts & Culture Program seeks to aesthetically enhance twenty benches with painted artwork. The benches are in the pedestrian right of way on 58th Avenue between Glenn Drive and Glendale Avenue. This one block segment of 58th Avenue connects Murphy Park to retail in downtown.
