Research & Development (R&D) Grants provide up to $5000 in funding support to Arizona artists as they work to advance their artistic practice, expand their creative horizons, and deepen the impact of their work.

Who’s it for?
Artists working in any discipline who live and work in Arizona. Whether you’re just getting started or you have already experienced many career successes, the R&D Grant is available to help you take your artistic practice to the next level, including:

  • exploration of new techniques
  • experimentation with new materials or technologies
  • creation of new work
  • development of new strategies for engaging your community of practice
Information Sessions & Grantwriting Workshops
Leading up to the application due date, the Arizona Commission on the Arts will present public information sessions online and throughout the state.

Mentor Artist Fellowship
Native Arts and Cultures Foundation

The Native Arts and Cultures Foundation’s (NACF) Mentor Artist Fellowship is a regional individual artist project award that focuses on artistic mentoring in the Upper Midwest, Pacific Northwest, and Southwest regions. The Fellowship is open to eligible, established American Indian and Alaska Native artists of 10 years or more who want to mentor an emerging American Indian or Alaska Native artist apprentice in either the Traditional or Contemporary Visual Arts categories for a period of fifteen months

City Council Chambers | Tempe Public Art Opportunity

The City of Tempe is undergoing a complete redesign of the City Council Chambers. To enhance this process, Tempe Public Art invites artists to submit previously created and completed artworks for consideration to be displayed in the newly designed Council Chambers. Selected works will be on display for one year and artists will be offered a stipend for this time. Multiple artworks will be selected as part of this opportunity.
