AZFO Goes To the SE AZ Birding Festival

Eight AZFO volunteers had a great time setting up and staffing our AZFO information table at August's SE AZ Birding Festival. We talked with several festival participants who had never heard of us as well as old friends, and special guests such as Kenn Kaufman stopped by as well. Kenn congratulated AZFO for starting and maintaining a statewide organization. As they say, "A good time was had by all!" This table offered us a great opportunity for outreach. We shared a a PowerPoint display, a trifold display board, our new AZFO rack cards, and some bird study skins.

Hoping you stopped by at our festival table!

Introducing our New Expedition & Workshops Fund

Field Expeditions and Workshops are two of our best ways to accomplish our mission of increasing the knowledge of the changing status, identification, and distribution of Arizona's birdlife. You can help us expand these programs by directing your donations to our new Expedition & Workshops Fund. When you direct a donation to this fund, you will help cover some of the related costs including supplies, equipment, compensation, and expense reimbursement incurred by the exceptional folks who lead these events. With donations targeted to this fund, we hope to expand both our science and our expedition & workshop offerings.

Arizona Birds Update

Our online journal, Arizona Birds , has completed an update that upgrades the professional character of AZFO’s online journal. Like other scientific publications, the pagination is now organized by volume (year) instead of every article having its own pagination beginning with page 1. We took the opportunity while making this revision to reformat articles from earlier years to be consistent with the standardized style we instituted several years ago.  Arizona Birds is located on the University of South Florida Libraries digital platform, formerly Searchable Ornithological Research Archives (SORA).
