Closure Continues
With the restrictive nature of the ease of restrictions announced yesterday (March 1, 2021) by the Government of Alberta, we will not be re-opening at this time.

We are looking at potentially offering low-intensity classes in another facility. We will update all of our guests and members as soon as we have more information.

If you have any inquiries as to memberships, registration, rentals, etc. please email or message us on our social media.

Until we see you again, please stay healthy and safe. We miss you!

Mandatory Face Covering Bylaw 1253.20
Starting November 30, 2020, the mandatory face-covering bylaw will be in effect Nov. 30 at the Abbey Centre.
Complimentary non-medical masks are available at Guest Services for a limited time for those who do not bring their own.

Day Admission Guests: Be advised that we will take your name and contact information for the purpose of contract tracing.

Spring/Summer 2021
Program & Activity Guide

The last final details are going into our brand new Spring/Summer Program and Activity Guide and we can't wait for you to see it!
This guide will be available online only and will feature upcoming programs, fitness classes and events.
Recycle for Reward
Due to the continued closure of the Abbey Centre there will be no Recycle 4 Reward sponsor for March.

Interested in being a sponsor for the Recycle 4 Reward Program in 2022? Email Carol Simpson.
Outdoor Skating Spaces - Closed
The outdoor rinks and outdoor skating spaces (ponds) are closed for the season due to freeze/thaw temperatures.

The daytime highs are too warm to maintain safe ice throughout the day and into the evenings.

Snow Angel Program
The Snow Angel Program is a volunteer program that supports Blackfalds seniors and those with physical restrictions; by removing snow from resident’s driveway/walkway along with sidewalks to ensure they are safe for all.

We currently have 7 residents on our Snow Angel Program waiting for volunteers and snow is back in the forecast!

Blackfalds Co-Ed Slo-Pitch League

Players and teams of all levels of ability are welcome! Get out twice a week to socialize, meet new people, have fun, and play ball!

Registration opens March 15 and the season is scheduled to begin May 2021.

Find fitness classes, youth programs, art classes, and more for the upcoming spring and summer months. Should COVID-19 restrictions impact scheduled programming, full refunds will be made.

Child Minding
As per the Province of Alberta's Stage 2 guidelines, Child Minding remains closed.

We are happy to offer the ability for you to book child minding time with us and have to option of staying on-site while you use the facility or take some time for yourself and run errands or maybe have a date night out! Contact Guest Services at 403.885.4039 or to check availability.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the following amenities remain closed as per AHS restrictions and regulations.

Reach Your Ultimate Fitness Goals with the Abbey Fitness App!
Working out on your own can be a struggle. The Abbey Fitness app provides class schedules, social media platforms, fitness goals, and in-club challenges that will nudge you to get moving.

Free Fitness Centre Orientations
We offer FREE Fitness Centre orientations.

Youth 12 - 17 years of age are required to have an orientation before accessing the Fitness Centre or Running Track. Youth 12 - 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Only 1 cohort per orientation. Masks will be mandatory during orientations.
Registered & Drop-In Fitness Classes Postponed
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, per the Government of Alberta announcement on November 17, please be advised ALL registered and drop-in fitness programs are postponed until further notice.

Track Only Option

We are happy to have our $2 track option available once again to our members and guests

Participants will be given a different wristband than All Access Users and the wristband will be good for the track only, at any time throughout that day. No specified times.

For your convenience we also have a $20 track only punch-pass available so you don't have to keep using your coffee change!
Abbey Membership and Admission Rates
An Abbey Membership gives you unlimited access to the Fitness Centre, Outdoor Aquatic Centre, Running Track, Indoor Play Space, Drop-In Fitness Classes, Registered Fitness Classes that have a drop-in option and daily (M-F) drop-in activities in the Field House.

Annual members are eligible to register early in Town programs and classes, receive two (2) complimentary day passes upon membership activation or renewal and have the ability to place their membership on hold up to twice a year (certain restrictions do apply). Membership forms are available at the Abbey Centre or can be downloaded here.

Clothing & Clean Shoes Policy
The Abbey Centre is a family friendly facility and clothing should be appropriate for all ages. Please NO sport bras, short shorts, deep scoop tank tops, bare chests or exposed middriffs. Clean, dry shoes are required in the Fitness Centre and Field House.
