IT ALL BEGAN WITH A SIMPLE COMMENT TO HER MOM THAT ABBY WAS GOING MARRY MATT, HER FAVORITE NURSE. RENEE TEXTED MATT AND FROM THAT SPARKED AN EVENT THAT WOULD FOREVER BE ETCHED IN ABBY'S HEART. SHE AND MATT WERE "MARRIED" AT CLINIC WITH ROSE PETALS DROPPED ON THE PATH, WEDDING MARCH BEING HUMMED BY STAFF, AND BRIDESMAIDS LEADING THE WAY.

NOW THE BRIDE AND GROOM WOULD LIKE TO GATHER THEIR COMMUNITY OF FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND SUPPORTERS TO JOIN THEM AT THEIR "FIRST DANCE" TO CELEBRATE HOPE, COURAGE, LOVE AND LIFE.

PROCEEDS FROM THIS EVENT WILL BE DONATED TO NICK'S FIGHT TO BE HEALED FOUNDATION IN SUPPORT OF THE MELODIES CENTER.

Meet Nick. This photo was taken in 2008 at his grandma and grandpa's house. Nick won this hat in his Spanish class and he danced around it in celebration! Nick was often described as a cartoon character because he was forever making faces in the mirror, doing impersonations, and telling jokes. His dynamic personality drew people to him and he always made others feel comfortable. Yes, Nick is the face of the foundation, but there are so many other children who battle cancer and their stories are inspiring, heartbreaking, and emotional.
