Happy New Year from Abby's Closet! We hope you and your loved ones had a festive and safe holiday season.
With the start of the new year upon us, we would like to take a moment to celebrate the end of another successful year for Abby's Closet. Here are just a few of the amazing things we were able to accomplish with your help and support in 2019.
- Let's start with the 15th annual Prom Dress Giveaway. Abby's Closet was able to provide 4,034 dresses to high school students. These dresses were given away through our event and through our Sharing The Love program.
- We welcomed back Brides for a Cause as our Presenting Sponsor. We are also excited to announce they will be supporting us again at the 16th annual giveaway.
- Aazaad Burn was selected to receive the 2019 Abby's Closet Dreams Scholarship. She was awarded the $2,000 scholarship at the Giveaway and "cut the ribbon" to open the event!
- In November, our signature Holiday Tea raised over $18,000 for our Prom Dress Giveaway this spring!
- Thanks to the supporters like you, we benefited from another successful #Giving Tuesday. $10,000 was pledged over a 24-hour period. Amazing!
- Abby's Closet saw the support of hundreds of volunteers over the course of the year. These volunteers assisted at the Giveaway, Holiday Tea and at our monthly dress sorting parties. We can’t thank you enough.
