Aberdeen Ave Safety Improvement Project

Pavement Marking Work Complete and Next Steps

Thank you for your interest in this project. See below for key updates.

Key Installation Updates

  • Major pavement marking work was completed last night. Paper signs for additional overnight parking restrictions have been removed.

  • Traffic signal work at both ends of Aberdeen Ave will take place starting this Friday. Temporary wayfinding signs for people on bikes are in place.

  • Work at the Huron Ave end involves adding bicycle signals and phasing to provide better access into and out of the median-running bike lanes, connecting to the two-way bike lane on Huron Ave.
  • Work at the Aberdeen Ave end increases the amount of green time for Aberdeen Ave southbound each cycle and increases the amount of green time for westbound rights from Mt Auburn St onto northbound Aberdeen Ave.

  • Flex post installation in the buffers will take place no sooner than two weeks from now. If you reached out to us about the placement of the posts, we will follow up with you before they go in.

  • Bike lane symbols, green paint, and other finishing touches will occur over the next few weeks. No parking impacts are expected.
