Aberdeen Ave Safety Improvement Project

Project Update - Pavement Marking Installation and Feedback Summary Report

Thank you for your interest in this project. See below for key updates.

Key Installation Updates

  • Pavement Marking Installation - Pavement marking installation will begin the week of Monday, September 22nd. This will occur overnight. The roadway will be kept open to traffic.

  • Temporary Overnight Parking Restrictions - During pavement marking installation next week, parking on Aberdeen Ave will be restricted on both sides. Keep an eye out for posted signs, which will be posted 48 hours in advance of the work. Parking restrictions will be overnight only, beginning at approximately 7PM.This will allow for the roadway to remain open to traffic while crews are working.

  • Flex-Post Installation - Installation of flex-posts will occur in October or Early November. Before installation, we will ask residents to provide feedback on the proposed locations, which will be marked out on the street in paint (see more information below).

View the Feedback Summary Report

We've completed a report of all the feedback we heard on this project. Key information includes:

  • Summary of the city's engagement efforts, including information regarding project emails, flyering, events, phone calls and other project updates.
  • Summary of written comments heard during our Fall 2024 virtual meeting and Summer 2025 in-person open house.
  • Key themes staff heard from the community throughout the public response.
  • Information on how feedback shaped the outcome of the project.

The Feedback Summary Report marks the beginning of the end of the engagement process. However, in response to concerns from community members regarding the impact of flex-post placement on the street, we will have additional opportunities to reach out to city staff, as described below.

Provide feedback on the Summary Report: Feel we missed something? Reach out and let us know.

Additional Outreach Opportunity: Flex-Post Locations

City staff want to hear from you regarding the placement of flex-posts along the street. See below for information on how to engage with staff ahead of the installation.

Flex-Post Installation - Locations of flex-posts will be marked out in spray paint the week following pavement marking installation. During this time, we invite residents to reach out to city staff with any concerns regarding locations, such as concerns regarding how posts will affect pulling into and out of driveways.

Staff will meet with residents on-site to hear concerns. Based on your comments and suggestions, we can make modifications and changes to where flex-posts are placed.
