Thanks to  HomeSnacks  for selecting Abilene as the #3 Safest City in Kansas!

It's that time of year when spring cleaning starts moving through our homes, and we start to get rid of things we no longer want or need. However, with spring cleaning comes thrifting and antiquing, two things that bring more back into our homes to fill those empty places. This is one of the best antiquing towns out there, and you'll want to check each store for yourself.

The Abilene CVB receives daily requests to fullfill requests for information.

In 2018, the Abilene CVB mailed brochures to these states.

Treat your Valentine to one of Chef Adrian's special dinners while you are staying at Abilene's Victorian Inn February 12-17. Reserve now, limited seating.

We will also be taking reservations for lunch from 11-2pm for small groups Wed -Fri through the month of February. Please call to reserve.

Echoes of Grant with John C. McManus
Thursday, February 28
Noon - 1 PM
Visitors Center Auditorium

"Echoes of Grant: The Second World War Leadership of Dwight D. Eisenhower" with John C. McManus

They led in different eras, but the parallels between Ulysses S. Grant and Dwight D. Eisenhower are striking - both successful army commanders in high-stakes conflicts and then president, with deep convictions about racial equity and determination to avoid war despite their military backgrounds. Ike greatly admired Grant, studying everything from his leadership style to his personality traits and scouring Grant's memoirs for lessons he could apply to the battlefield.

John McManus, a Curators' Distinguished Professor at the Missouri University of Science and Technology and one of the nation's top military historians, examines those connections, delving in particular into Eisenhower's World War II military campaigns. This program continues a series coinciding with the exhibit "Eisenhower's Middle Road" at Central Kansas City Public Library. All are made possible by a grant to the Eisenhower Foundation from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City.

The Lunch & Learn series is made possible courtesy of the Eisenhower Foundation and the generous support from the Jeffcoat Memorial Foundation.
