🚨 Pro-Abortion Bills Must Be Stopped!

Hi Benjamin,

On Easter Monday, the Legislature will convene, and we will be at the Capitol throughout the session fighting for life! Here's a look at some of the bills filed ahead of session.

THE BAD

As expected, pro-abortion legislation has been filed. These bills are a serious threat to our pro-life laws!

HB 346 and HB 549 would legalize abortions in cases of rape and incest. Rape and incest are terrible crimes, and the perpetrators should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. At the same time, a person's value should not be determined by how they were conceived. Learn more about this difficult issue.

HB 522 was filed to gut our pro-life laws by removing criminal penalties for violating the law. If passed, those who performed or sold an abortion would not serve jail time and may not even have to pay a fine, even if they performed a late-term abortion in the days before birth!

We must stop these bills. We can't open the door to legal abortion!

THE GOOD

We love moms and babies, and we are pushing to pass more laws that help moms and promote adoption! In addition to renewing annual funding for pregnancy help centers, we are supporting the following bills:

• HB 443: The Adoption Tax Credit Act provides a $5,000 tax credit for a family adopting a child.

• SB 41: Establishes a tax credit for an individual or business that donates to certain pro-life pregnancy centers.

• HB 386: Establishes a tax credit for infant adoptions.

• HB 5: Enables a mother to secure 50% of pregnancy-related expenses from the father of the child.

We need pro-life citizens to make their voices heard!

Here's how you can help:

• Sign and share our Keep LA Pro-Life petition.
• Contact members of the House Criminal Justice Committee individually and ask them to oppose the pro-abortion bills.
• Join us at Pro-Life Day at the Capitol on May 10th.

As we continuing taking the pro-life message across Louisiana on our Keep LA Pro-Life RV Tour, we are also preparing to host our Northshore Pulse Immersion and Pulse Leadership Institute to train youth leaders!

Now more than ever it is important that we equip Gen. Z with the tools they need to articulate the pro-life message with compassion. Recently, I have seen first-hand how social media has influenced teens in Louisiana to be pro-abortion. Remember, our youth will be our voters in years to come! We must educate them. Please encourage students to register for our amazing youth training retreats!

• Northshore Pulse: Saturday April 29th at St. Scholastica Academy in Covington.
• Lake Charles Pulse: Saturday May 13th at the West Cal Event Center in Sulphur.
• This summer, our Pulse Leadership Institute (PLI) will be held outside Baton Rouge from July 10-14. This is an awesome program to train teens to be pro-life leaders led by amazing leaders and speakers, including abortion survivor Melissa Ohden.

Our 2023 Leadership for Life award recipient will be Frances Brossard of Pregnancy Problem Center who has been serving women in the Greater Baton Rouge area for decades!

The event will feature live jazz music by Jerry Christopher, great food and a silent auction. All contributions go to our Advertise for Life campaign which has saved at least 98 babies since 2019.

Our RV is in the Baton Rouge region all week, with its last stops before Easter today! At each stop, Dustin Bertrand is sharing his powerful pro-life testimony.

Sign our Keep LA Pro-Life Petition! Some legislators in Louisiana want to bring back some or all abortions to Louisiana. But we need to move forward in protecting life and helping moms, not backward!

The 2023 Baton Rouge PULSE Immersion Retreat was held on Saturday, March 18th at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Hall. Throughout the day, students took a deep dive into pro-life persuasion. 

Join us on Wednesday, May 10th for Pro-Life Day at the Capitol! We will be meeting with legislators and encouraging them to protect every life from abortion! We will also be bringing our Keep LA Pro-Life RV.
