Yesterday, we had a number of abortion-related bills in committee at the State Capitol. We had some great successes, including advancing the Abortion by Fraud Criminalization Act, Compatible with Love Care Act, and the Pregnancy and Baby Care Initiative Act.
BUT, we still need your help! HB 164, which would add abortion exceptions and weaken our pro-life law, was deferred in committee and will likely be heard next Tuesday. We believe that incest and rape are some of the worst crimes against nature and that perpetrators should always be held accountable to the fullest extent that the law requires. At the same time, every life, regardless of how they were conceived, should be protected.
Abortion never has and never will erase the trauma that accompanies sexual assault. Watch the video above to hear Serena's story about her abortion after rape. Rather than offering real help, the "physician" performing her abortion told her to "shut up."
