GENERAL INFORMATION
FUNDRAISING
Funds raised by the Parents Association are an important source of financial support for St. Barbara Catholic School. In order to maintain our Nonprofit 501(c)3 status, fundraisers must be run by volunteers.
Fundraising helps to fill the gap between the actual cost of education for your child and the amount you pay in tuition. Fundraising also helps you to ask others to help you with the education of your child in a Catholic School.
All families must work to raise $500.00 in fund-raising profit for the school. Fifty percent of any additional profit incurred above the $500.00 will be credited to your tuition account in May/June. This profit amount CANNOT be redeemed for cash.
Any families not wishing to participate may opt out of the program at the rate of $500.00 a year or $50.00 per month to be included as part of your tuition payment.
Please contact Mrs. Rogers at 714-775-9473 or rogers@stbarbara.com to include in your payment.
In order to facilitate fundraising, each family may decide how to raise credit for their fundraising account. You can choose one fundraiser that may best suit your needs or mix and match whichever fundraisers as long as you raise $500 in profit. The cut-off for fundraising is March 31.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE $500 IS PROFIT - NOT ACTUAL AMOUNT PURCHASED OR SOLD. FOR EXAMPLE: Buy SCRIP Stater Bros $100 card at 5% profit. $5 will be applied to your account, not $100. The debit card value will be the full $100 to purchase items at Stater Bros. Or sell a $60 box of chocolate at 40% profit, you get $24 of credit to your account.
There are other fundraisers where the proceeds benefit other worthwhile school projects but are not credited to your account. Please support if you are able since the funds are used for the students. Fundraisers promoted by Student Council, Booster Club, Jog-A-Thon (supporting Technology), and the Annual Gala (supporting Facility Upgrades and Improvements) will not be credited to your fundraising account.
HOW TO RAISE CREDIT FOR YOUR FUNDRAISING ACCOUNT:
Fundraisers which are credited to your fundraising account may include but are not limited to: Scrip, chocolate sales, gift wrap, food, or Christmas and Easter catalog/online sales.
You may check your fundraising progress on your Facts Family Portal account at factsmgt.com. Go to the menu button (three lines on top left corner) and select FAMILY. Look for $ FAMILY BILLING - fundraising section. $500 will be charged to the account at the beginning of the year. As you fundraise, your profit will be credited to the account. The Fundraising Amount will be what must still be completed. Click on Fundraising to see details of what has been credited.
