As a VISP Student who is coming to CapU for the Summer 2022 term, and who will be living in British Columbia, Canada, you must have basic health insurance for the entire time of your stay.

Your guard.me health insurance and important dates
guard.meis a private health insurance company contracted by CapU to ensure all VISP students have adequate health insurance coverage for the duration of their studies at CapU. This insurance is mandatory for all VISP students.
The cost: $2 per day
Coverage period:May 9 - August 19, 2022* (if arriving before May 9, 2022 you will be enrolled starting the day you arrive in Canada for 3 months)
Guard.me Payment deadline: May 23, 2022 at 4 p.m. PT. SeeHow to Pay.
We will send you a guard.me card to your CapU email address once the payment is received in full following the payment deadline.
Extending your guard.me health insurance coverage
If you are staying in Canada past your term end date (August 19, 2022), email visp@capilanou.ca with the exact end date of your desired coverage, and we will ensure your coverage extension.
Opt-out if planning to study from outside of Canada
If you will be studying at CapU via online means from outside of Canada this Spring 2022 term, you may opt out by completing theOut of Canada Declaration and Waiver. If we receive your opt-out application by May 23, 2022, you will not be charged guard.me health insurance. If you still decide to come to Canada after choosing this option, please email visp@capilanou.ca.
