Dear CRC Volunteer,
A new volunteer, John, shows up early to the CRC Tea with a carload of auction items he is helping to transport. In need of back-up, the tea committee asks if he could stay to help set up. He does.
Resale Store volunteers finish their shift, and realizing there are extra donations to process, come back a second and sometimes a third day in the week to move donations out to the floor for sale.
A client is having an especially challenging day, and a Food Pantry volunteer provides an extra dose of empathy and understanding, while helping them shop.
These are stories from just this month, and I hear them often. CRC volunteers believe in the work we do and take pride in the success of the organization. Our success means that people receive food, shelter, counseling, safety and support. This is a big deal to us, and your willingness to be more than just "volunteer hours" and to do more than "check the community service hours box" shows.
Thank you!

April is Volunteer Appreciation month! We hope you have seen banners up at the FNC and the resale stores, noticed our "thank you" social media posts, and feel our gratitude!
All current, active volunteers should have received an invitation to next month's volunteer appreciation event. If you have not received an invitation, or need to RSVP, please email the volunteer manager by May 2.

Thank you to the 61 volunteers who provided support for our 28th annual CRC Tea fundraiser!
Volunteers provided behind-the-scenes help, as well as day-of support to ensure the event went smoothly.
The event raised more than $158,000 to go towards the work we do. More importantly, it highlighted the stories of individuals whose lives have been positively impacted by CRC, which includes our amazing volunteer team. Check out our facebook photo album from the event for more!

Thank you to our Ambassadors who braved the crowds to represent CRC at the Encinitas Spring Fair on April 29th!
The streets were packed with locals and tourists who were able to stop and learn more about the good work we do in our community. Some even picked up information to pass along to acquaintances and loved ones who could use CRC's services.

Congratulations to CRC's Volunteers of the Month: CRC Tea Committee!
While we like to celebrate one volunteer each month, it can be especially challenging at times. We have so many amazing volunteers who provide time, compassion and services to our mission, and we are grateful for each one.
This month, we want to acknowledge and highlight the entire CRC Tea planning committee, who truly demonstrated the “above and beyond” mentality. Check out our blog post on the committee and the many behind-the-scenes ways they brought the beautiful CRC Tea fundraiser to life.

We have an opening for volunteers to ride along with our truck driver to provide assistance. This role requires someone who can lift 25-50 pounds multiple times in a few hours, enjoys riding in large trucks, and can keep up with our staff banter. Openings are on Mondays and Fridays, 7:40 am - noon. If interested, email our Volunteer Manager.

The Volunteer Program is currently putting together a Youth Advisory Board. If you are 16-20 and are interested in helping share our mission, develop leadership skills, and provide valuable perspective to our team, email the Volunteer Manager for an application. We are taking applications until May 15.
