September 4, 2025 - Abrakadoodle is pleased to welcome new franchise owner Mabelle Ashe (photo, left) of Carlsbad, California. Dr. Ashe is launching her art education franchise that will serve Carlsbad, San Marcos, Encinitas, Cardiff, Del Mar, Solana Beach, La Jolla, Leucadia, Fairbanks Ranch, Olivenhain, Rancho Santa Fe and Carmel Valley. Abrakadoodle North County Coastal San Diego will be bringing creative, mobile art programs to benefit children in the community. Abrakadoodle’s award-winning visual arts classes, camps, workshops, in-school field trips, special events and arty parties are delivered at schools, community centers and other community sites.
Dr. Ashe, a biotech marketing professional with over 20 years of experience and a Ph.D. in Cell & Developmental Biology, has consistently integrated her scientific expertise with a strong commitment to education, mentorship, and community service. She has led STEM outreach efforts, mentored students at all levels, volunteered in classrooms and labs, and developed programs focused on literacy and inclusion. Growing up in South America, she developed a strong appreciation for art in its many forms, which sparked a lifelong passion for creative expression and the role art plays in learning. That passion made Abrakadoodle’s philosophy especially compelling. “I felt an instant alignment with Abrakadoodle and its approach to educating children about art, how it can be a safe place for self-expression and exploration in a world that often seems rigorous and structured,” she says. The opportunity to combine her passions for education, art, and enrichment in a hands-on way made becoming a franchise owner a natural next step in her professional journey.
“We are delighted to welcome Mabelle Ashe to our award-winning Abrakadoodle franchise system,” said Rosemarie Hartnett, CFE, President and Co-Founder of Abrakadoodle, Inc. “Mabelle brings a powerful blend of high-level marketing expertise and a life-long love of the arts. She has a genuine understanding of the value of arts education and a deep commitment to community involvement. This will serve her well in developing a vibrant business.”
Abrakadoodle academic art programs are offered at more charter schools, elementary schools and pre-K programs than any other program. Schools that partner with Abrakadoodle gain a comprehensive academic art program that allows students to experience a wide variety of materials, techniques and styles. Students use specialty art materials, learn about contemporary and master artists, work in two and three dimensions, explore art from around the world and much more. A team of experienced artists and educators design the Abrakadoodle curriculum to provide a balanced program that sequentially builds both skills and knowledge. In addition to its art education programs, Abrakadoodle offers creative art programs made specifically for adults, called Art Splash, for social art parties and events.
