ABSTRACTION IN FOCUS

Since its inception in the early 20th century, abstract art has taken the world by storm, inspiring conversation, adoration, questions and even controversy. Shunning the representational, abstract artists instead focus on color, form and texture to convey their messages. From the early days of Piet Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky, today's Haitian artists carry on the tradition, interpreting their own singularly Haitian experiences.
