Fundraiser for Shelson's Funeral

On Monday, May 22, 2023, Shelson Jules (known to some as JJ) died suddenly. This tragedy has impacted everyone in Shelson's community: family, friends, loved ones, even strangers who have only heard how kind and compassionate Shelson was. Shelson was only 22 years old, and his life was taken far too soon. We are blessed to have had the gift of his life for the years he was with us. We are raising money for Shelson's family to help with funeral costs, which will be around $15,000. If we meet this goal, we will continue to raise money for the family in their grieving and the immense impact Shelson's death has had on their lives.

100% of funds raised will go directly to the family.

Blooming with Grief

Our 2nd Annual Blooming with Grief was Saturday April 1 and once again it was magic. Sprinkled among the new faces there were so many who had been waiting for a year for this gathering. Together we listened to music, witnessed artists speaking their truths, dancing into their story and twirling into feelings. We ate and drank, hugged and shivered, drew and snapped instant pics. Together our mind, bodies and spirits had the chance to re-remember what healing can happen when we choose to be together, with vulnerability and shared trust.

Shannon of Slobbered Lens Photography has continued to capture moments for us and we are ever thankful for their time, love and energy.

We did it! For Une Bonne Mort 2023, we were able to gather on line and in person. An intimate, informative and loving space for us to learn about caring for the living, the dying and the dead. This year our speakers shared about grief, love, pleasure, saddness, memory, trauma, positionality and complications of care. All of these are threaded together with delightful questions and some answers, table conversations and cello.

Please see the full collection of photos below, we are still working on the editing of the video.

Again- thank you to Slobbered Lens Photography for your skills
