Friends in Christ,
I pray each of you are enjoying your summer. That you are traveling, spending time with family and friends, going to concerts and movies. That you are simply enjoying being out in the world again.
For the month of July I will be in a car traveling through the Southwest visiting as many National Parks as possible between here and the Grand Canyon. For the past 16 months the council (especially Karen, Pattie and Kären), the staff (Dawn, James, Katherine, and Mike), and I have worked tirelessly to keep the flow of worship going, finances organized, communication flowing, and keeping up on building maintenance. We all need time to not be as busy and the month of July is that time for Acacia Park to settle into a maintenance mode of a month before we gear back up in August to rebuild ministries, volunteer groups, and programs to be back in full swing in September.
Rev. Peg Otte and Rev. N. Keith Fry will preside and preach in worship, rotating each week during the month of July. Worship will continue the same way, in person; and with the same guidelines, if you are vaccinated you can come unmasked, if you are not vaccinated, please wear a mask. The council will continue to review the guidelines as we learn more about the Delta variant that is now in the US and is a highly contagious strain.
If you have an emergency, please get in touch with James or Karen L. and they will address your concerns. I will be checking texts, but probably not emails. So, if you have something to share with me, please do so over text.
Please continue to take care of yourselves and also, please enjoy your summer.
Rev. Meagan Sherman-Sporrong
