| Growing Together: Partnerships that Enrich AL | |
Dear AL Community,
As we celebrate Generations Day, I am inspired by the teamwork, creativity, care and commitment that make Académie Lafayette so special. Today, I want to recognize some of the ways local partnerships help our students and families.
- Our charter sponsor, SLU, and the Missouri Public Charter School Association (MPCSA) support our mission and advocate for charter schools.
- The French Embassy provides Label FrancEducation, teacher training, intern sponsorships, and grants.
- Local organizations like Read to Lead KC, the Kansas City Museum, Rockhurst University, and SchoolSmart KC help our students learn outside the classroom.
- Programs like Oracle Health Foundation Wellness Screenings and Junior Deputy support student well-being.
- Upper Room cares for K-5 students after school each day, providing a safe space and engaging activities until parents are able to pick them up.
- Generous donors sharing time, effort, resources, and money—either directly to the Annual Fund or through our various fundraising events—to help our students and staff.
- Our PTO works hard to support staff and build a stronger AL parent community. A big thank you to the PTO for the lovely Thankful Meals on Wednesday! Our teachers and staff felt the love!
- Athletic coaches also play a big role, helping students develop teamwork, discipline, and leadership—often leading to winning teams!
Thank you, families, for your unwavering support. Together with our community partners, we will continue helping our students grow and succeed.
We hope everyone enjoys a restful and restorative break with family and friends.

Sophia F., an 8th-grade student, earned 2nd place in the Language and Friendship Program’s “A Day in the Life” photo contest for her photograph taken in France.
Sophia’s winning photo captures a moment in a typical French restaurant, highlighting her keen eye for everyday life and cultural experiences. In recognition of her achievement, Sophia will receive a $50 prize.
Congratulations, Sophia! We hope your travels to France were as memorable and inspiring as the moment captured in your photo. Your curiosity, creativity, and engagement with the world exemplify the values we celebrate at Académie Lafayette.
| One of our Armour Friday Middle School clubs is looking for 3 ping pong tables. If you know someone who’s getting rid of one, please reach out to Wes Willett at wwillett@academielafayette.org to arrange pick-up or drop-off. Help us bring some fun to our students! | | Help AL, Complete a Meal Application | |
Every family must complete an application, regardless of income level. Your completed application has the potential to increase our funding opportunities. Every family that fully completes and submits a 2025-2026 Meal Application will be entered into a drawing for one of four $25 gift cards.
Just a note that, as of December 1, any carried-over free and reduced meal statuses from the 2024-2025 school year will be reset. If your family would like to receive free or reduced meal benefits for the 2025-2026 school year, please take a moment to submit a new application.
Questions or concerns, please contact DeAnn Gould, dgould@academielafayette.org.
