After careful consideration, AL PTO is rescheduling Trivia Night and the annual Holiday Art Market for the spring. We are excited to host both of these beloved events! You can learn about these events and much more at the next AL PTO meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, December 3 at 6 pm at the Oak campus. We will have child care available for elementary-aged children and pizza. 

Volunteers are needed for the Académie Lafayette Open House at the Cherry campus on Thursday, December 5, from 5 to 7 pm! Please consider supporting our school if you are able to spare an hour or two that evening to assist with navigating the prospective families around the building, answering questions/giving feedback about your AL experience, and/or distributing promotional materials. This is an opportunity for families to come tour the Cherry Campus, meet our wonderful teachers and staff, interact with current AL families, take a peek at some of the wonderful things teachers and students have been working on, and get their questions answered. Please share with any incoming pre-k or kindergartner families you know. 

Académie Lafayette is now using PowerSchool for its Student Information System. All families were sent the codes to create an account last week. Click here to read more.

This holiday season, Académie Lafayette is coming together to support our AL families in need with a Uniform and Financial Donation Drive. From Monday, November 18, 2024, to Friday, January 17, 2025, we invite you to share the warmth of the season by donating new or gently used items. Bins are available at the front office of all three campuses, where your generosity can make a meaningful difference.

Additionally, you can contribute to our Family Support Fund, which helps provide critical assistance such as housing support, uniforms, scholarships for field trips, and opportunities for international travel. Every donation, big or small, brings comfort, joy, and hope to those who need it most this season.

Together, let’s embrace the true spirit of the holidays by helping our Académie Lafayette community shine a little brighter.

We have set our Boys Basketball A team roster. Moving forward, practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:15 pm at the Cherry campus. Parents of an A team player, please contact jwilli6287@gmail.com so that we can set up a group communication with pertinent information about the season (eg: game schedules).

For those players that did not make the A team, we would still like them to compete this winter. However, in order to field a B team, we need a coach. If you are interested in coaching or know someone who is, please contact jwilli6287@gmail.com. This will be a volunteer position.

Please note this only applies to new siblings not currently enrolled at Académie Lafayette. All current pre-K-11th grade students will re-enroll at a later date. 

Pre-K, Kindergarten,1st & 9th-12th grade new incoming sibling seats: To be fair and transparent with all prospective families, we want to be able to tell them how many seats are available and how many seats will be taken by siblings. Your help is essential. If you have a new incoming child or sibling entering in the fall of 2025, please apply here now until March 1st, 2025 for the 25-26 school year. The AL Pre-K classroom has seats available for the current 24-25 school year. Apply today for 24-25 or reserve a seat for 25-26 here: https://schoolappkc.org/. 

The Pre-K classroom is off-site at Emmanuel Family and Child Development Center located at 4736 Prospect Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64130.

The AL Pre-K requirements are: child must be age 4 by July 31, live within the KCPS school district boundaries, and qualify for free and reduced lunch.

The Pre-K partnership through the Kansas City Pre-K Cooperative offers families that qualify for free and reduced lunch the opportunity to apply for a limited number of free Pre-K seats. For additional information, click here.
