AL 2nd Semester Information

Dear AL Families,

We appreciate the feedback and support of the school community as we work to be safe in the building and to improve our online and in-person instruction. We want to recognize again the 20+ people who serve on our reopening task force: parents, board members, teachers, administrators, and healthcare professionals. Thank you for the time and energy you've invested.

As we prepare for the 2nd semester, we want to communicate well about our plans. At the end of this email is a survey link for parents to choose the best option for their children when we return from Winter Break (December 19- January 4) and the first two weeks of virtual instruction.

We will return to school on January 5 in virtual instruction K-8 for the first 2 weeks. 9th grade will be in person. We hope to be able to open up for in-person instruction on January 19.

Some important details about the 2nd semester:
  1. We are offering two options: online and in-person. We expect to start in-person instruction with the phase 2 hybrid model. When it is safe to be in school full-time, we will expect in-person students to attend all days. (We will discontinue hybrid at that time. It is problematic for staffing, attendance, and instruction to have students attending different numbers of days.)
  2. We are asking parents on the survey to commit to their choice until Spring Break (March 13). We will of course consider extenuating circumstances in case of emergencies, but moving back and forth from in-person to online or vice-versa has become a logistical problem this semester.
  3. In addition, we are asking for feedback on how both online and in-person learning has gone this first semester. We appreciate your suggestions and input on how to best serve our students.
Again, thank you for your patience and flexibility as we navigate this challenging time.  Please click here to complete the survey for your child's choice for January 19- March 12. The survey will close at 4:00 pm on December 13.

Thank you!

ALIHS Incoming 9th & 1oth gradealihszoom

Dear current 9th and 8th grade parents

The timeline of enrollment for Académie Lafayette International High School has changed to ensure we have the appropriate staffing and course offering available for our students. As of 2020-2021 the intent to return form is required to be submitted between December 2020 and February 22nd 2021. This will allow your student to participate in choosing their class schedule for the 2021-2022 school year in the spring. It will still be required to complete full re-enrollment during the summer. This requirement and other changes we may implement will continue as we grow our ALIHS student population. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
