Good News On Charter School
Funding Inequity

Dear AL Families,

This week, the Missouri House Budget Committee voted HB 137, the Charter School Funding Equity Bill, out of Committee, which means we're a step closer to ensuring public charter school students get their fair share of funding! Thank you to everyone who contacted reps, voiced your support, encouraged communication, and stood up for charter school families in Missouri... Remember to thank your reps for their support too!

Unfortunately, two reps in the KC area with charter schools in their districts and/or parents living in their districts did vote "No". We encourage you to let them keep hearing from you if you want equitable funding for our students.

Thank you all -- with all of this forward progress it's critical that we continue to advocate and voice our support to make fixing this funding glitch a reality! Sign up to receive updates or get involved by texting "fixtheglitch" to 52886
Sample messaging and contact info for the reps that voted no are below:

As a citizen and public charter school parent and supporter, the successful committee passage of HB 137 gives me hope that my child will soon start receiving their fair share of funding. I know you and your colleagues take education funding very seriously and that you must balance many voices and stakeholders as you help lead Missouri. While you voted "no" this time, I remain hopeful that you will continue to listen to educators, parents, and students, who want to solve this inequity.

Have a great weekend and stay warm!

Last week to reserve your ALIHS spot.
Dear current 9th and 8th grade parents,
The timeline of enrollment for Académie Lafayette International High School has changed to ensure we have the appropriate staffing and course offering available for our students. As of 2020-2021 the intent to return form is required to be submitted between December 2020 and February 22nd 2021. This will allow your student to participate in choosing their class schedule for the 2021-2022 school year in the spring. It will still be required to complete full re-enrollment during the summer. This requirement and other changes we may implement will continue as we grow our ALIHS student population. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
